Crown and Anchor in Barnsley

Well worth visiting for the date and mates offer. Two course meal for 2 and a bottle of wine for £40. The food was excellent and extremely good value. I would definitely recommend a visit on Tuesday evenings for this offer.

Had a great lunch here a few weeks back - best pie I've had in ages, and that's saying something from a northerner! Generous portions and top quality ingredients. And, it's family friendly to boot. Back again looking forward to the gammon steak this time.

Had an excellent meal here yesterday, the staff were really attentive, food was delicious, nice drinks , Great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning 😁

Had a lovely dinner tonight with my mum. Sat by the fire. Food was super tasty! We had the chicken and leek pie and the cod with mussels special. Then the sticky toffee pudding. Service was attentive. Portions generous. Pricing very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Family birthday meal . Pre ordered our meals .So we expect a smooth night. Unfortunately it was far from smooth. Things not available. Meal got completely wrong. 4 meals absolutely terrible. Food tasteless. But best of all when we complained to the waitresses. She said its OK I'm used to it .It does have a good bar .But the food is poor at best .

Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great drinks and menu choice. The food was delicious. Looking forward to next visit 😀

Proper pub with tasty food, real ale & great service from friendly staff. It's very popular & has a great atmosphere, love the real fires on a cold day/evening.

Dog friendly pub with excellent food, I had a beef pie which was served as a complete article rather than pastry over the top of the dish. Will definitely be going again!

Sat outside as we had some very mucky pups after a walk. They were dog friendly and had water available for them. Food was exceptional - we ordered 1 pie and 3 burgers and every meal tasted fresh and homemade, the burger I had was delicious and absolutely massive! Definitely worth the price (was about £10 per meal I believe). 10/10

Moderate priced meals, great tasting food, brill atmosphere. Dog friendly in the bar area where you can also have your meal.I've been to the Crown & Anchor a number of times now and had a good meal here every time.I would highly recommend the fish pie as this has easily been the best meal I have had here.Staff are pleasant and provide good customer service.
