Just seen the absolutely fantastic, Phoenix Dance Theatre perform at The Civic. It's great to have this lovely, local contemporary venue where we can see such high quality performances.

Great night out to see Speakeasy with a few friends. Staff all getting into the spirit, dressed for the era! Clean, comfortable venue with a great programme of shows coming up. This is the second I've been to this year and have a few more booked between now and early summer. Easy to nip over from Sheffield on the train - and just a few mins walk to the theatre. Lots of great places to eat and drink very close to The Civic too. A brilliant night out all round.

Keira Martin’s Good Blood and Woman Wise were both brilliant in different ways. Good Blood showed the relationship between two sisters with Irish ancestry and the multi talented pair used dance, singing, speech and music playing to create a moving and at times very funny piece.Woman Wise choreographed seven dancers with an age range from young to old, all of whom danced brilliantly and worked as an ever moving and evolving group through the ages of womanhood.Go and see this work if you get the chance. The Civic in Barnsley is a great place to see performances, very relaxed, unpretentious and the staff are all really friendly.

Wonderful night from start to finish. Chris and the guys have such powerful voices and the girls were outstanding. Will definitely be back next year. 😊

Brilliant little venue in the centre of Barnsley. Not a bad view from any seat. Seen plenty of great comedians here, last Saturday was Andy parsons. Absolutely fantastic place

·

Attended a performance of Pinocchio on Christmas Eve. The performance was excellent, spellbinding, creative.Audience etiquette training is required. Really annoyed by the amount of people going in and out of the theatre, often clumping about with no consideration. The show was only an hour duration. Please consider some sort of announcement or signage. It really did effect our enjoyment.

Had a great night at the Last Laugh Comedy Club at the Civic in January. Brilliant acts, great staff and a theatre that's clean, comfortable and a pleasure to visit. Will definitely be back!
