Shaws Fish and Chips of Dodworth in Barnsley

Been going to shaws for 25 years, ordered haddock and regular chips, firstly, the haddock was really good so fair play. However the ‘regular’ portion of chips wouldn’t of fed my 4 year old, barely a dozen and they were lukewarm at best, at £10.50 a pop it’s an insult. Very disappointed.

Love the light batter option for fish. Always great fish and chips.

Brilliant chip shop. Staff always friendly and premises always very clean. Food always cooked well. Never have I had a complaint in all the year's visiting.

Just had fish and chips but it was all Rushed. Fish was ok but chips Not cooked enough for me. Also extremely Greasy which gave me an upset stomach. It feels like i wasted my money. Getting expensive now and it will be a Long time before I have them again.

Fish and chips nice although we preferred them wrapped in paper to take home but the curry and peas are no longer large like they used to be and are very watery and tastless now...1st time thought theyd overwatered them but watery all the time now...sorry we wont come again and been coming since shaws took over.

Went to front of queue, ordered a haddock as requested, when it arrived ,it was dark brown, fish dried up,all inedible,must have been cooking for days . In the past we have used and praised Shaws online. Total rubbish ( this is polite).

Delicious fish and chips. Tasty mushy peas too. Fish is on the smaller size that I have come across. Chips and batter crispy, not too greasy. Enjoyed the fish bites too. Really patient and friendly staff. Vegetarian/halal friendly as use vegetable oil and cook sausage/meat separate. All 3 of us our enjoyed our food. Would eat here again.

Really nice fish and chips. Staff friendly too. Really like the fact they wear hair nets and the place is clean, this always makes me want to buy again!

Loads of chips but no fish thought it was a battered sausage.lol .twice I've ordered from here. Who's giving it 5 stars . Never again.
