Just stopped by for a quick drink, ended up staying for a few drinks and a meal. The atmosphere is very friendly and warm, the service was excellent and the food was very tasty. Definitely be coming back.

We had a great meal here having cast about for somewhere to eat in the area. Wanting some comfort food, I opted for the burger and chips which was excellent. The mushroom lasagne went down well too. Service was friendly and warm hearted.

Only called in for drinks on our dog walk but had a lovely outside seating area in the sunshine. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Really clean toilets. Beautiful establishment.

Today 19th April 2022 treated my wife on our 35th anniversary of the day we met I had the steak n ale pie off main menu and wife had prawn sandwich and what a sandwich it was she actually said it was the best steak pie she had ever tasted because I gave her some. We sat in beer garden on front thank you to the staff for the fantastic service and attention and attitude well done Spencer's Arms Cawthorne

Only given this place a 3 because the meat pie pastry was like a rock , couldn't cut it with a knife had to break it up .Even then large pieces couldn't be cut up .Left most of it .Meat was bit overcooked as well . However the other food was delicious ,well presented ,well served by staff .We travelled from Hull and met up with local friends ,we did complain when our plates was cleared away about the very hard uneatable pastry that was left on the plate , expecting some feed back from the chef but nothing .We asked the waiter did he tell the chef ,yes he said but you had eaten most of it so it can't of been that bad.Now that's bad customer service .No she hadn't eaten most of just broke it all up to get into it only ate the soft bits .We had spent £120 in there ,no apologies given .when argued the point we was offered to remove one of the sweets off the bill .We declined this as was the fact that the attitude of the chef wasn't acceptable.Shame because other food was very nice although very overpriced .Advice; Don't get the pie ,if it's hard send it straight back don't touch it and complain .

The staff were helpful and friendly. I had the steak sandwich with beef dripping chips and it was delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked and you could cut through it like butter. The chips were also lovely. I was going to have a desert but didn't have room I was so full. 5*

What a lovely place. We stopped here after a 115 mile journey to rest and recover before travelling back and I can say that I enjoyed every minute here. Everyone was so friendly and nothing was too much of a bother. The menu was refreshing as there were plenty of alternative food choices all of which sounded delicious. I had pulled pork spring rolls as a starter and they were really tasty, would have like more but that's because they were very good. The duck for main was really tasty, cooked a bit more than I'd like but the flavour was enjoyable and the jus that went with it was wonderful. The indoor and outside seating areas are lovely and all have parasols to provide shade should you want it. Dog friendly and pleasant views all around. I have already mentioned it but the staff were fantastic. If I'm ever up that way again I will certainly be coming back.
