Not eaten here since leon worked here 20 plus years ago. Attended Tuesday 20 % off also greeted us. The food if honest was not very good. It tasted like something from a harvester (microwaved- pre cooked and it wasn't good at all).vegetarian menu was non existent. The above was a bar meal as restaurant was closed but it has truly put me off attending again for food.

Out for dinner. Sat in the restaurant upstairs. It's an old building, nearly 200 years old. Low ceilings and slopping floors add to the charm. Not cheap, food cooked to order. Worth the wait, delicious.

Been going to Talbot for over 2 years, never fails to be nice. Been again today and another 10/10, lovely stuff. Recommend to anyone. Pictures attached are from today's visit.

Amazing food, I believe they've just changed their head chef and he's doing amazing things to the menu, breathing new life into a great eatery, will definitely be coming back!

Singing barmaids happy at their work. Excellent, reasonably priced food. Nice surroundings. Relatively quiet for a Saturday lunchtime. Heartily recommend the gingerbread pudding.

I went here for a boxing day meal 2021, it was honestly beautiful. The food was outstanding, and I absolutely loved the decor everywhere. I would definitely recommend this place for a meal! The staff where lovely and very accommodating and the price and quality for the food was amazing!

Incredible food! Went with 3 other people, we all had different meals and I honestly could have eaten all 4 dishes. Freshly made, beautiful flavour and incredible presentation… gutted I’ve only just realised this is on my doorstep after all these years! Highly recommend - brill selection of ales etc also, so perfect for drinks, food, or both!

There were 4 in our party and we ordered food and drinks the member of staff we spoke with was lovely, polite and courteous all the time. The steaks we had were cooked perfectly for us and the chicken burger huge and really good, I had the lamb slider from the specials board and again beautiful, the lamb was perfect.

Looked nice and had good reviews so decided to try whilst in the area.Called first and was told we could have a table in the restaurant at 5pm which we took. Upon arrival we were told we had to eat in the bar as the table had gone (in the 5 minutes it took to get there) which meant we couldn't take advantage of the 2 or 3 course deals featured on the online menu. We were a little disappointed we couldn't eat upstairs but decided to stay as we were there already.Ordered at the bar and it was around an hour for the starters to come but they looked really nice. The soup was lovely but the "mushrooms on toast" as announced by the waitress were somewhat under seasoned. The mains were just what you would expect a Yorkshire Sunday roast to be.....swimming in gravy and huge Yorkshire puddings...yum 😊The children's pasta and meatballs looked gorgeous and it was refreshing to see it was done like an adult meal as apposed to pasta tubes chucked on a plate which you get elsewhere. There was a little confusion on the Latte we ordered and I ended up with two which I was happy to pay for but they kindly only put the one on the bill.We would have liked to have dessert however we were just passed a dessert board and told to order at the bar (the table next to us had table service?) but there was quite a queue by then so decided against it. Also the children's desserts were limited (just icecream apparently?).Whilst we were waiting to pay one of the gentleman serving went to clear our table and noticed my little boys drawings so came over with some haribo and told him he was very creative (totally made his day!) Which we thought was a lovely touch 😊I did have to go back in after I had left as I realised I had paid another tables bill in error but it was quickly rectified without any issue. My overall feeling is that it seemed to be a very 'locals' pub to go to and the service seemed to be better if the waitresses knew you. I also feel the dining experience may have been better in the restaurant however overall it was pleasant enough visit.
