Lovely room, felt fresh and newly decorated. Friendly staff made you feel good to be there. Evening meal excellent as well. Great place to start walks onto the Moor.

Spoilt for choices, we went for lamb rack and fish cakes in the end plus extra sweet potato fries side, and brownie and crumble for dessert. Really fresh lamb, great handmade fishcake, brownie with the liquor ice cream is heavenly. Lovely service, good seating. Must join the club or app for extras freebies or discounts or specials.

To summarise the food was average yet overpriced.Outstanding location, great alcohol selection and friendly staff. The soup was very nice as was the brisket sandwich (I loved the beef dripping sauce) and the rest of our order was simply average. However, the fish and chips is where my party found fault the taste of the fish wasn't brilliant, the peas were horrific, barely warm and watery, finally the chips were simply okay but the fries were better for my personal taste.

Great place to grab a pint after a hike/climb on the Ilkley Moors. Staff are super nice and the restaurant looks lovely. We only sat in the bar area but next time we will book a table because the food looked really good and they had a few vegan options on the menu too.

Wonderful setting to meet my cousin for the first time in over 5 decades - must be 55 years! was greeted with a wonderful hug which reminded me so much of my beloved late uncle. We had lunch at the Cow & calf with a window table overlooking the moor and rocks, what a wonderful view, beautiful sunny day obviously helped. the food was lovely, the service very friendly and relaxed pleasant atmosphere. perfect suroundings to catch up. After we went for a short walk over the moors then returned for a coffee and dessert. lovely.

I really enjoyed my recent visit to the Cow & Calf. They very kindly managed to squeeze us in after a long hike. The place was warm, cozy and lovingly decorated for Christmas. Great beer and cider selection. Lunch arrived quickly and tasted great (fish finger sandwich and jackfruit wrap). Also incredibly dog-friendly, with water bowls available at most tables.

Go here on a Sunday from time to time and they do a great roast for meat eaters and vegetarians. Their vegetable roast is the best I've had! Dog friendly which is great and the staff are super friendly. Would recommend at any time.
