Very dated, cleaners need sacking, bedroom carpets stained and decor dated, dust everywhere, bathroom was beautiful such a contrast to the rest of the room. Main function room mirrors you could write your name in. Overall this hotel is lacking care and attention to detail.Function food was very good and far surpassed what I was expecting after booking in. Hotel chain is charging 4 star prices for 1 star accommodation

Service was nonexistent at this hotel. We couldnât get through to reception the week before and had to call their head office in the end. When we got there they said we should have booked our spa treatments beforehand and so weâre fully booked and we couldnât have any.Next up was the spa itself, where they didnât have any full sized towels and so we got given 2 small towels instead. This was in addition to the fact that the robes werenât dry âfor some reasonâ and so we had to walk around in swimwear in the cold. The food was quite good to be fair but it seemed like the staff had no idea how to deal with customers, not sitting us at the table or being particularly attentive. It took 25 minutes from being given a dessert menu to taking the order. I wouldnât mind but there were only 4 tables to wait on!Then our door key got wiped and we had to wait around at reception for 10 minutes before someone came to assist. You know a hotel is bad when you can hear other people complaining about it. We had a 1pm checkout but just decided to leave early. Would not recommend.

Absolutely terrible service. After paying the deposit our spa day was cancelled half an hour before we were due there! We were told it was fully booked, they offered to re book us but how are 7 people meant to get the same day off work again?? This had been planned for ages. Luckily we were able to find somewhere else so my sister in laws birthday wasn't ruined

Groupon spa day with afternoon tea and one treatment. Nice facial. Small spa but still quite relaxing. Afternoon tea was the worst I have ever had. Didn't eat any of the sweets.. very poor quality.

DO NOT STAY HEREour room was cancelled the day before and was only told by email. tried for 4 hours on phone calls to different people to try find out why. turns out it was because a wedding party booked last minute so they gave our room away as they were paying more even though we booked 2 months ago.Hotel have send they are not giving us refunds, no explanation as to why and cant get through via email or phone anymore.currently in contact with trading standards as what they are doing is illegal.

Enjoyed our latest stay here. Refurbished rooms are excellent with modern bathrooms and large screen TVs.Food throughout was superb, especially dinner. Staff attitude and service much improved.Would recommend this hotel but watch road down to carpark, You can catch the bottom of the car on the sharp bend. This is way overdue for repair.

Booked a spa day for my partners birthday. Booked for the 3rd but the website said the spa was shut between the 1st and the 5th. Rang multiple days in a row, emailed twice and no response so assumed we had been booked on the wrong day. Had no response until the morning of the 3rd so had to rush to make sure we made the booking. Arrived and no one was there to greet us at the spa reception. The spa itself was great but the lack of service dragged the place down. The spa member was very unattending. I understand it may have been understaffed but there was never anyone at the reception and no one was there to answer our questions and queries. He seemed to be the only member working but more staff was needed for the amount of bookings that day. No robes available for us, no apology given. Wasnât a very luxurious experience walking around in our towels. The mud experience was great for us and the actual spa was lovely but the customer service was the killer. The afternoon tea after the spa was great, lovely variety and all very nice. The gentleman who sat us was lovely, letting us in a little early as we decided to leave the spa early.Overall nice spa but more staff desperately needed!

My partner and I stayed one quiet Sunday night in December, and therefore paid a very reasonable rate. We found the hotel staff to be friendly, and our room spacious and clean. We could not fault the choice of hot and cold breakfast food available, especially given it was such a quiet time.I did use the spa got an hour. I found it to be clean and pleasant, though not all the facilities were in operation.I am not sure whether we would consider paying the full rates at this type of hotel essentially for an overnight break of journey. However we had no complaints about our stay.

The hotel was really nice...pretty quiet while we were there, but good atmosphere, warm and welcoming with delightful staff. Breakfast was excellent, room was large, spacious, comfortable and VERY hot!! We did ask for the heating to be turned down or off, as it happened to be pretty mild weather at the time. But, I would MUCH rather have it hot than cold, so it wasnt really a problem. Rather an unsightly white box in the foyer currently, covering the lift entrance i believe, but i assume the broken lift will be fixed soon. We enjoyed the spa very much, but sadly the steam room was out of order. We'll definitely go again and would recommend the hotel.
