Called in to this lovely tearoom with my little pooch a couple of weeks. Great decor of a bygone era. Food and service were impeccable. Such a wonderful experience. Thank you. 😊🐕🐾💕

Lovley family run cafe, stopped in for a very affordable cream tea which came with fresh strawberries and chocolate it was delicious. Gorgeous 1940s decor and all the ladies were dressed in 1940s clothes too. Card machine stopped working while we were in and I know the ladies were worried but they were lovley and chatty while getting it working again. Perfect cafe for a light bite and a step backwards in time

Absolutely loved everything, the home made food, the warm welcome, the service from all the staff and the smiles on every customers faces! We got a voucher for Christmas and finally got round to using it!From the second we walked through the door we felt at home, Chay and the team gave us such a warm welcome it felt like walking in your nans after school and having a cuppa and some bikkies (most Yorkshire people will know what I mean), total nostalgia and I even felt a little emotional when I was leaving I felt like I’d had a huge hug from my nan the decorations are lovely and even spotted something we used to have. The food was fantastic, more than enough for 2 we had to bring some home, just tucking into the cake now it’s gorgeous! And hands down the best scones I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come again will be recommending to everyone we know!

First time visiting today with my sister, an amazing place, very friendly and welcoming. The hostess was so lovely and the afternoon tea was outstanding. I wish you a great future with your business, a truly quirky and astonishing tea room.

Was expecting a true 40's experience only to find poor quality food, food check given before we had finished therefore not affording us the opportunity to even consider purchasing any of the homemade scones and cakes! The exuberant owner whose personal opinions over her fur stole and reasons for wearing such, should be, quite frankly kept to herself made the visit to Forteas a very disappointing experience.

What a gem , finally found a place that knows how to give great value for money . Went for an early Mother’s Day treat and how fantastic it was , this isn’t just an ordinary tearooms it’s a full experience. Chay and the girls couldn’t do enough , food , atmosphere and singing 10/10 , can’t wait to visit again. Thankyou so much

We stumbled across this tea room on a rainy Sunday, staff were very friendly, however quality of takeaway sandwiches very poor! Bog standard bread with filling very thinly spread, homemade scones very small, not what we expected at all! 😒

We came upon this lovely tearoom by chance, and had a warm, Yorkshire welcome. The food, ambience and customer service were so good we booked ahead for afternoon tea on the following Sunday! It was definitely worth waiting for, and so reasonable. It's at the bottom of the High Syreet, but definitely worth the climb back up

Wow...such an amazing little place. The welcome was as wonderful as the cakes. Made to feel so welcome and the food was all delicious. The best afternoon tea experience, full of nostalgia and would heartily recommend. We couldn't finish our tea so took left overs home..nothing was too much trouble. An absolute must if you're in area. X

Fantastic YORKSHIRE service 🤗 super warm welcoming staff very friendly, and we really enjoyed our coffee and cake. And all at a very reasonable price, and my son had the full works milkshake, it's a big one. A must try 👍🤗🍰😊
