I've wanted to visit this place for many years and finally achieved my ambition to eat there. It was well worth the wait and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had read one or two, less than flattering, reviews but decided to go and see for myself. I might suggest you do the same as I'm confident that you will be as equally rewarded as I was. My only complaint? I don't live close enough to be able to make the luxury of eating there a regular habit.Just to be clear, when I use the word luxury it doesn't imply expensive as the meals are at yesteryear's prices (compared to where I live) so read decadence/indulgence for a lovely meal at a decent price into that. Some reviews implied the place was a hovel - The Ritz? Maybe not quite - clean, attractive, welcoming - most definitely.Enjoy your meal and your visit - I certainly did.

Best curry house in Bradford by far. Been going for over 20 years, never had a poor meal and never been to any other restaurant where the food is consistently excellent every time. When have friends visit who haven't been to the area for a while its the first place they want to go. Remember if you want a beer to take your own and no cards so go to the cash machine before. That good have on occasion been twice the same day.

Quality Bradford curry house, super friendly, value for money no frills just old school and well worth a visit.

Food is tasty. But the place looks a bit run down so we didn't dine in. It's a good place for take out. Only issue is they don't take card so have to have cash.

I came through from Wakefield to Bradford to try the Karachi after watching them on Rick Stein's programme. I expected something authenitc and different from the usual westernised curries, as, in Stein's own words, 'this place unapologetically refuses to cater to western tastes'.What on earth was Stein talking about??The curry I received was the same as one I could get from any Indian restaurant or takeaway in countless places across the country, and it was average to boot. The onion bhajis and samosas were bland and swimming in oil, the rice was microwaved and scalding hot, and my rogan josh was no better than I could have made myself at home. My friend's jalfrezi was completely tasteless. The only saving grace was the price, as it is very cheap. My suggestion to the reviewers who like to wax lyrical about how they've been going here since the 70's when a curry was 25p etc would be to remove the rose tinted glasses and try going somewhere else for a change. You'd then realise how average and unremarkable this place is.

Over 30 years plus since last visited back in the days when a curry was 50p.Visited last week with 5 friends still a good curry and value for money . Service great . Won't leave it as long to return.

An ok Curry, an ok place. I'm always put off by restaurants where you've got to fetch your own cutlery. Chipped plates and bowls. Staff vacuuming around us as if rushing us to leave, it wasn't even that late. They serve food till 10 apparently and we were there before 9. The food was ok, nothing to brag about.

I have been a patron of the Karachi since 1973 when they we're in the cellar and a curry cost 50p. Recently I collected my take away orders including a keema. The keema I received was not the keema I had come to expect. More onion base than mince. The mince was very low quality with large lumps of gristle. The taste was predominantly "Cumin" & ""Chili" instead of the usual aromatic magic of masala. The prices have gone up which I don't mind but the magic has gone and quality plummeted. I wouldn't feed it to the dog, it went in the bin along with my patronage. THE END of a love affair.

Since it is well known and featured in the guardian, we paid a visit for some authentic Indian food. The place was buzzing with customers and almost full. The interiors were a bit dated but had a fresh lick of paint which made it look clean. The food was nice and freshly cooked. The menu was simple and easy to understand. I ordered bhuna chicken which should have been dry but was not! The lamb dopiyaza was nice. The main dishes comes with free chapathis which was freshly baked. The biryani was a big disappointment as it was bland and had absolutely no flavours. They also give you free sides of cucumber and raita. They are particularly proud of Rick Stein's visit a long time ago and have a huge photograph of his visit.
