National Trust Tea Room, East Riddlesdon Hall in Bradford

We've been national trust member for a while now and this place is our local. We went during the half term holidays and enjoyed the Easter trail. The house is fabulous and the staff are super knowledgable about the history and were eager to offer their knowledge as we walked round. I learnt a lot. The grounds are stunning, a herb garden, bug hotels and mud kitchen area to name a few spots and the lovely pond at the front of the property blessed with sweet little ducklings. My only disappointment is they have removed the play park and so left a blank spot where children used to enjoy playing, it meant we didn't stay as long as we would normally. Other than that its well worth a visit.

Easy to walk to from bus stop, very busy with children during the holidays as expected but large enough to find peace in the gardens. Cafe very good spot for lunch, tuna and cheese jacket potato, coleslaw and tuna especially tasty. The gardens are beautiful

A truly breathtaking experience!! A remarkable eye opening place! A joy to visit in spring. The garden full of bird song & rare species of flowers blooming forth. A pure joy for the senses. Great & helpful staff & a great gardener too with so much expertise to answer your questions. A peaceful haven of tranquility. It’s hard to believe the house dates back to 16th century as it’s very well looked after. A lovely day out for the whole family. A great cafe to eat in or take out to enjoy the surroundings. Bathroom facilities are available. A lovely lake with ducks for the young children to enjoy. Daffodils are springing forth everywhere. A real treasure to discover. It absolutely blew me away ❤️❤️👏👏👏10/10

Enjoyable and quirky old stately home... Be prepared to feel drunk while exploring inside, I suspect it wasn't that uneven when first built

Stepping back in time today at this enchanting property felt like a real privilege! The welcome we received was 'second to none' and it was lovely to have little ones catered for inside the house with the 'mouse trail'! The gardens and grounds are beautiful and the Discovery Garden was a big hit. The cafe also deserves a huge mention. Wonderful food and great service. Thank you!

My husband and I got married at East Riddlesden Hall in the barn and I don't think I can fully explain just how incredible it was. From the venue itself to the service provided, it was all just mindblowing and I cannot recommend it enough for your dream wedding.The barn itself is GORGEOUS. It's a beautiful rustic feel with wooden beams, with fairy lights and ivy wrapped around them throughout and with a waterfall of fairy lights behind the stage (these are permanently there, making the venue already gorgeous without needing much dressing up). It's an excellent size that will acommodate large and small weddings and, like I mentioned, doesn't actually need a whole lot of dressing up to make look beautiful as it's simply stunning as it is. And it's incredibly affordable to hire for just how gorgeous it is. Plus, you get the added bonus of supporting a national trust site! Depending on when you have your wedding you also get the whole site to yourself closed off from the public, which includes the walk along the pond, the gardens, and all the other beautiful areas around the site.Coordination-wise, I just cannot recommend them enough. We had Flora Simpson as our venue coordinator and she was not only excellent at helping us sort everything out and being organised, but she was a pleasure to organise it all with. She was so friendly and so responsive to whatever questions or ideas we had. It all came together so seamlessly thanks in huge part to her. And on the day she was WONDERFUL. She helped keep everything flowing smoothly and was always on hand to help out. Not to mention when I had a bit of a dress crisis that a number of us just couldn't figure out - she came to the rescue! We can't thank Flora enough.Overall we also simply can't recommend the venue as a whole enough - if you're after a venue that captures that rustic, warm feeling, honestly look no further. You won't find a better one in the area - trust me!

Small National Trust site, not the largest of grounds to explore but the well preserved house interior makes a visit worthwhile. Friendly and knowledagable staff stationed around the house inform the visitor. There are the usual cafe and toilet facilities plus a small car park. In addition to the intact park of the house a facade of the ruined section remains. Within the grounds there are nicely kept gardens, a pool with waterfowl and near the entrance of the site an ancient barn houses some carts and other implements.

This is a small NT property with low entry price (free to members). The house is interesting, although the interior furnishings have all been added, but partly it is the story of the family who developed it that is unusual.It involves quite a lot of stairs, including to the small cafe, and one of the charms is the meandering nature of the tour.There is a pleasant garden with some play areas for children.The cafe is upstairs, although there are tables to bring drinks down to, and serves a selection of sandwiches and jacket potatoes, and the usual teas, coffees, soft drinks and snacks.We very much enjoyed watching Macbeth at the hall (an additional cost event in the evening).

Very beautiful, however, was surprised to see dogs weren’t allowed in gardens even though it says they are in website. Gardens aren’t much to write home about, would not pay if wasn’t already a member. Inside the house was interesting but don’t take young children in unless you won’t angry stares from older patrons :(

Smaller than lots of National Trust places but a pleasure to visit. Parking good, nice walk for the dog and children. Beautiful house gardens that are not for dogs, but the shady carpark means they can rest safely whilst you vote the house and garden. N.C
