Shipley Golf Club in Bradford

Had the most perfect send off at Shipley Golf club for my mum Rita Trickett on Sat 19th March 2022Their Beckfoot suite is lovely, and their lounge has plenty of tables and chairs.It also has a spacious terrace with fabulous views of their green so we could sit outside.Alice Beeley was amazing and made sure every requirement was met, nothing fazed her even when 6 guests had to drop out with 2 days’ notice, she really is a superstar.She arranged to have 2 tables to make 1 large Memory table to display the flowers, plus framed photos, and a memory book for friends to sign.Their Bar had everything you could want, great service from their friendly staff and very reasonable prices.Their Buffet was all home made by their amazing chef: gorgeous sandwiches, mini quiches, slices of sausage roll, pork pies, plus scones served with clotted cream and jam.I ordered prosecco for the speech / toast which was handed round to each guest by their staff in readiness.Highly recommended, 5 stars!

Good chat in good company, food wasn't bad either

Had my wedding here earlier this year - I wouldn't even give it 1 star but that's the lowest possible rating! There were several issues on the day which I will list below:They promised a master of ceremonies - this never happened so there were no announcements during the ceremony, the wedding breakfast, cutting of the cake or first dance - this meant none of the guests had a clue what was going on all day.The music during the ceremony was too quiet. You couldn't hear it when the bride was walking down the isle, the music during the signing of the register, and the walking out music. This was hugely disappointing.We told the venue that the bride had a big dress so would need a wide isle - the isle was small and that resulted in decorations being knocked over during the walks down the isle. We also provided room decorations which were not used so were a waste of time, money and effort.We also had money behind the bar which was not all used up and there being about £150 left. During the days after the wedding we were REFUSED a refund for this.None of the staff were helpful when it came to distributing the cake, so none of the guests actually got a slice which is awful.Members of the golf club were eating the nibbles we had provided before the ceremony as well which is totally unacceptable.The Golf clubs solicitors got in touch and threatened us with court if we left a review - but we feel we have no choice as this is NOT a venue in which you should consider having your special day, as ours was ruined.

Very friendly club and good challenging course. 18 holes on a fairly small acreage so there are a couple of holes that cross. Lots of trees and a good day out.

Excellent course in good condition. Tough but fair challenge. Nicely appointed clubhouse overlooking the course. We were looked after well at Seniors Open.

Always a pleasure to play this beautifully manicured course and the Professional and the staff including the bar catering and the 10th catering hut staff are amongst the most welcoming and pleasant people you would wish to meet .

First time played and loved layout.Like most courses the delay in good growing weather,had an impact on course namely the greens which was a shame.Great welcoming clubhouse ,with friendly attentive staff.Would love to return .

Beautiful course played there today friendly welcome course was in good condition and greens were tricky felt very fast but added to the challenge afterwards club house food was very nice and great service all in all I would highly recommend this course to anyone

Lovely course, wicked fast greens, a few cross over holes, nice friendly people, looking forward to next year's seniors comps.

The best golf course in the area, and one of the best in Yorkshire. A beautiful hidden gem, with a great variety of holes, and true greens. Perfect for golfers of all abilities and ages.
