Was going to have a few drinks and some food with my family after a walk down the canal, my daughter really needed the toilet so I took her straight there before we went to bar and was met with a rude barman when I came out “thanks for just coming in and using our facilities without even asking”We left and went somewhere elseI hope this isn’t the new owners as they will not last long with that attitude.

A very poor experience. A couple of months ago this was a lovely pub serving excellent food .In the last few weeks the chef has left and the food is extremely limited and poor. We called in for a drink intending to eat, but only nachos, burgers, chips on blackboard menu . One of the staff had a child there and she was running backwards and forwards behind the bar, also going past plates of food on a table near the bar waiting to be taken to customers. The person who was in the kitchen preparing the food was in and out of the kitchen and looked very untidy. Just before we left one of the staff made a loud remark for us to hear saying how it wasn’t there fault that the previous chef had to be sacked because he was an alcoholic. I thought this was extremely unprofessional. Will not be returning.

Very pleasant canal-side pub with beer garden and seating by the canal. Spacious airy interior. Haven't eaten here for a long time but always used to be good.

Local pub for local people, boaters, cyclists n passerby’s. Lovely atmosphere, just the edge of canal for more views, we had a pint on our way to walk around the canal.

6 of us went for Sunday Lunch soon after opening and everyone who had beef Sunday roast said they beef tasted like it had been reheated after being frozen.... everyone’s slices of beef looked the same. We checked when ordering that mashed potatoes included and told yes but they aren’t. A member of staff serving had no idea what vegetables were included. The only decent meal was the Steak pie and chips which the person said was very tasty! All 6 said we wouldn’t eat there again and really poor customer service

Great traditional pub on canal side.Called for a bite to eat with my wife, food available all nights with specials on most nights. Arrived early enough for the early bird menu and had a starter and main course for £12. Large well presented meals arrived which were excellent for the price. The pub is traditional and offers numerous beers not to mention dog friendly too with a car park and beer garden by canal side.Overall excellent service, beers and food, highly recommend.

We have stopped here on a few occasions while walking along the canal. The food is always tasty and the drinks are refreshing. There is quite a large beer garden at the rear which is pleasant on a sunny day, there is also a wooden seating area at the side of the canal where you can enjoy a drink or two.
