The Wheatley is perfect in almost every respect.Only issue is the music in the bar / lounge areas is WAY too loud- if you're sat under a speaker it makes conversation difficult, and if you're having a meeting or working on laptop etc it destroys concentration. Not just the volume but the choice of music. On our second night we dined & drank elsewhere due to this.Otherwise- good value, 5 stars if they address this- great rooms, superb location etc. just TURN IT DOWN please!

A lovely pub in a good location.Friendly, cheerful staff.Nice food and a superb breakfast (best I have had in any hotel).Rooms are clean, comfortable and have a good shower.Easy walk (20 minutes) into Ilkley or a frequent train service runs from a station 5 minutes away if you don't want to walk.We will definitely stay here again.

Very friendly welcome by the team and choice of seating area. Good choice of food options on the menu. The service was lovely and speedy but it was the food which was standout. Hot, freshly cooked and presented beautifully and more importantly, tasted delicious. The portion sizes were very generous. Really lovely dining experience.

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend in Ilkley. The Wheatley Arms was the perfect place to stay; rooms were comfortable and spotless, dinner and breakfast delicious. The highlight for us was the fantastic service, Victor looked after us so well and kids and 2 dogs were welcomed with such kindness. Fantastic family run pub and hotel, we loved it, thanks to everyone!

I took a friend here who was visiting for the day. I ordered belly pork with the stuffing and there was hardly any meat mainly stuffing and my friend had the roast beef. The 2 meals came out with the veg already on the plates and covered in gravy. The roast potatoes seemed old. Normally the veg comes out separately. I have been to the Wheatley lots of times for lunch as it is normally very good so was disappointed on this occasion.

The food here is not great at all, everything is so over fried and we felt ill after for a £15 pub meal. The veggie burger was like veggie food from the 80’s.We had to pay up quickly after as the waiter looking to end his shift early asked us if we wanted the bill, we said maybe after another drink, then he immediately brought it over anyway and was hassling everyone else to pay too (this at about 9:30)

Me and my husband our wedding reception at the Wheatley arms in September 21 and we had the most amazing day.Carol and her team made our day so special and the whole reception went so smoothly. The food was fantastic, amazing choice of food that catered for all our guests requirements and excellent serving staff with really good portion sizes. The hotel is beautiful and the bridal suite is perfect, really romantic, there was plenty of rooms in the hotel for all of our guests too.The room for our wedding was the perfect size and used the outside space too!! Perfect for the beautiful weather we had and Carol helped me with arranging and dressing the tables. What a fantastic manager! Emma helped me plan everything beforehand too so my mind was at rest.I would highly recommend the Wheatley arms as a wedding venue!! 5* stunning venue

Lovely place, lovely service but food disappointing and quite expensive. Camembert starter was nice. Slaw was very strange - neither of us ate it? Cod dish was OK. Sides of chips and veg were nice. My mushroom stroganoff had a very weird taste, slightly blue cheesy (?), left most of it 😨. I didn't complain - so a bit unfair on the restaurant. Sometimes you just want an easy life!

We used this venue to host our groomsmen and their other halves. The Wheatley Arms was a fantastic place to base ourselves. Excellent communication prior to and throughout the time we stayed. Appropriate pricing. Additionally, had a buffet in the large room on the Sunday and there was excellent volumes of food. Lovely experience.

Just had a wonderful dinner, bed and breakfast experience at the Wheatley Arms. A warm welcome into the cosy and atmospheric hotel lounges and bar, and enjoyed a lovely room, with complimentary tea, coffee, fresh milk (rare in any hotel) and free treats in the fridge. Great bed.The real highlight was the food. Delicious and plentiful nibbles and starters, but the star was their home made steak, mushroom and ale pie...I love a great pie and this was the best I've ever had....and I've had plenty. Breakfast food and service lovely, friendly....and typically Yorkshire!Lovely staff, nothing too much trouble, nice gaps between courses to enjoy the wine and chat with my partner. Highly recommended.
