The Wyke Lion in Bradford

Food was nice but a little on the pricey side for what you get. The veggie burger with chips was £13.50. and a ham and cheese sandwich was£7

Made my first visit today. Lovely pub with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately the food wasn't the best despite having a really decent looking menu. Neither me or my partner finished our main meals (due to quality) which is rare for us so didn't feel it was worth the money. Starters were great though.

This is such a nice relaxed place with some really nice staff. We went on Sunday evening and there weren't many people there which is a shame as it deserves better. The food was really good we all different things but they were all superb. Give it a go it's worth it.

Been here a few times and never had any complaints until this last visit.We went on a weekday around midday and the food didn't seem up to the usual standard. The belly pork didn't have the crispy crackling that it normally comes with, instead it was soggy and the pork seemed quite dry as though it had been reheated.The waitresses are always friendly and I also like that it's a dog friendly pub, yet it still has a classy and cosy atmosphere.

An impromptu visit after visiting family - sadly disappointing. The ambience was lovely with an open fire. We ordered drinks and our meals. The drinks were served at the bar but the meals took over 30 minutes to arrive - during which time not one person acknowledged our wait or reassured us that food would be with us shortly. Had it been busy it might not have seemed so bad, but it was very quiet. My husband ordered pizza which was quite nice, not special, and no where near the size our local Italian restaurant serves at a far lesser cost. My first choice of main was not available, understandable as I am aware of the problem sourcing fish at the moment, so I had the hunters chicken style meal. This was the smallest meal of its kind I have ever had - and it is a favourite choice of mine. Restaurants are normally more expensive than pubs but I have had better versions, cheaper, in many restaurants.We eat out at least one a week and my reviews are mainly five star- we usually enjoy the food and the experience, maybe we will return to our usual style of checking reviews first (I now know there are many similar to this ) instead of impromptu dining. Apart from the value and the size of the portions, the worst thing was the total lack of customer care.

Good choice on the menu, love food, well cooked and presented. Staff were fab, friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our evening and we will return.

Relieved to pronounce that once again service is of a high standard at this local eatery. The assistant manager who I delighted in informing that the service from the waiting staff of our table during our time at the restaurant was exceptional and highly detailed paying particular attention to dividing up one of the desserts into two children’s portions and asking us on numerous occasions if we required additional drinks and if everything was ok.Thank you

Overpriced. Almost £16 for a bang average burger with what looked and tasted like supermarket chunky chips. The rack of lamb roast dinner weren't great either, portions were small and meat was very tough.

An impromptu meal after a 7 mile walk with great friends. Called in hoping to have a table and although appearing to be booked they managed to find us a really nice table. Lovely decor with numerous open fires. The food was really lovely and we were well looked after by a really nice genuine lady called Emily. It has been a real pleasure to dine there today & we will return.

Looks a great place, but surprisingly empty. Two real fires, friendly service, nice selection of beers. Food was well prepared and presented just not to our liking. Wyke Lion is wheelchair accessible with a ground floor WC also plenty of car parking.
