Exceptional. And I mean exceptional.Beautiful location next to the canal and lovely industrial decor.Service was excellent from the moment we stepped through the door. Greeted by a lovely gentleman who seated us, even pulling out our chairs. He was incredibly nice explaining the background of the restaurant and the ethos behind the good.Wine was excellent and, maybe an odd comment, it's strange how quickly you get fussy about glasses and these were excellent.I had a sous vide duck egg on ham hock and it was cooked to perfection. Wonderful balance of smoky flavours with a thick and creamy yolk.To follow was venison from a local estate with potato terrine and other vegetables. The venison was SO incredible, just melting away- barely had to chew. Amazing quality. Actually the best venison I have ever had.Rhubarb Fool to finish. Again excellent, sharpness cutting through the sweet. At the end of the meal the chef came out to talk about the tasting menus he is putting on and the English wines he is promoting.Cost us around 90 for two and this included wine. You have to pay for quality and it was worth every penny.I use the word EXCEPTIONAL sparingly and it fits this venue perfectly. In my mind the food and service here is matching the likes of Home, Bibi's, Piccolinos, all still firm favourites of mine. And I would say one of the best meals I have had for a while.Wholeheartedly recommend a visit. We are so going back for their English wine and tasting menu night.

Utterly amazing. The best food I've ever eaten! Would like a huge vat of the lobster bisque.

Nice food but service let it down.We arrived early hoping to sit at bar area which they said was OK but felt rushed to sit at table which was right next to the toilet, strange when only one other table in venue being used. Food arrived and was far from cooked medium as described on menu which was fine for me, as I can eat rare steak (see photo) but my partner asked for his veal more well done as was very pink and was made uncomfortable for asking by 2 different waitresses, one of which challenged his request from the chef and the other saying the chef may refuse entirely! In the end food was nice though, once cooked to my partners taste (which was still pink after recooking)On asking for the bill the waitress assumed my partner was paying and asked for payment before he had even looked at the bill, then assumed it was a card payment as returned with card machine minutes later making us feel rushed to leave even though we had drinks still. She then stood watching him input details and asked if he wanted to leave a tip making him feel quite awkward. Most restaurants, certainly of this calibre, should know it is polite to turn away and not hover when putting in details into machine. It did top up my partners annoyance that as we were leaving 2 new tables were seated in much nicer positions, spaced well apart, and certainly not right night to the facilities.Safe to say we probably wont be back, but not from fault of the food particularly which was very tasty, although meat very rare which is fine if you like it that way.

So great to find a resto in the area that focuses on fresh, locally grown and produced food cooked to the highest standards. I had Coley that was done with a nice burnt skin with a lovely moist texture — perfectly cooked. The wine selection was varied with lots of good reds and whites by the glass, unusually so. Definitely will return. A local gem.

If you live in Leeds, you are missing out if you don't visit this hidden gem of a restaurant in Shipley. The owner is a lovely man and his son in law chef who trained under Marco Pierre White is a talent who should be both recognised and applauded. Delicious food, beautifully cooked, can't recommend enough.

Absolutely lovely food. My friend and I shared the steak for a main and asked especially for blue as many other restaurants cooked it too much so it wasn’t properly ‘blue’ but this steak was one of the nicest steaks we have had in a long time. For starters we had the prawns which were presented perfectly and the salad was spectacular. Service was attentive, friendly and overall excellent. Would definitely recommend to others and going to visit again for dinner soon hopefully!

Staff was very friendly. Food was delicious, the sous vive venison was melt in the mouth. Scallops was fresh and sweet. The monkfish was substantial too.We also ordered the black creme brulee. One of the best deserts in a long time.Highly recommend and can tell the skill and passion of the chef. Will try and visit again

This restaurant is a rare little gem almost hidden away. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the food is excellent, we were a party of six and had a wide variety of wonderful dishes between us. I would very highly recommend this fabulous restaurant.

A warm welcome and a relaxing atmosphere, a pleasure to dine here. The food was delicious, more menu options than the website menu showed. Each dish had a great mix of flavours, well thought through and very tasty.Covid wise - tables are set apart, there is a one way system through the restaurant and you wear a mask to the table and also if using the facilities.

Absolute gem of a restaurant! We had the tasting menu and it was absolutely delicious. Top quality ingredients and mouth watering combinations. Fantastic service as well. Would highly recommend!
