Webster's Fish and Chips Restaurant in Bradford

Very poor fish... 2 very thin fish stuck together... smelt very fishy, which means not fresh at all. Staff nice but if tou like a fish DO NOT go here... terrible terrible fish and not cheap. Never a contender for best fish n chip shop.

Scraps of Chips nothing like real chips. Special fish was nice but the chips were brittle, scraps. Expect one or two but this is what I received in photo.Terrible

The takeaway is nice, my only complaint is the batter. It's too moist/wet/greasy, and as a result always seems to stick to the paper it's wrapped in. Opening hours are great all week

I'm medically exempt, as agreed upon with my doctor, but was met with extremely disgusting attitudes by the two staff on the front desk. They were more than happy to take payment FIRST, then rudely told to get outside in the cold, even after advising and presenting proof of mask exemption. This is legally the end of the conversation. Reading through the reviews, it's evident that the fryer also gets very aggressive and tells people not to come back, and that they have no clue about the law, as presented on the official Gov UK website.This used to be an excellent place to visit in the village when the restaurant was open, but took a huge dive once the experienced friendly staff had enough and all left. We've supported this place religiously for many years, and it's quite sad typing this out, but it's the last time they receive any of my business. Judging by the reviews (one left just minutes ago by another lady) there will be many more going elsewhere. No change of policy/training will convince any of us to go in there again now, the damage has already been done.I'd suggest people support a superior place just down the road, with the villages name in their title ;)Edit: Their reply suggests it was done for safety and in a polite manner, but firstly, the gobby response from the person behind the counter confirms that wasn't the case. Secondly, the fryer didn't realise that we heard his foul language and door slamming outside. Don't be fooled by the 'caring' response, not one single member of staff had one on.

APPALLING!Just been in this evening for fish and chips and skied to wear a mask by the young lady server, I presented my Exemption badge and lanyard and asked to wait outside, I obliged and waited in the cold until informed my order was not complete meanwhile all the time the young lady server had been talking to her colleague (who had her face covering on) I felt the need to enquire further, ‘why is it I am medically exempt and have to wait outside, I don’t have a problem with this but can I ask why you are not wearing a mask?’‘I don’t have, the government says’‘I think you need to check your facts’Then the fryer decides to get Immediately angrily involved,‘What’s your problem’‘I have non I am just asking why she….oh and now I can see your face you are also not wearing a mask’‘If you don’t like it don’t come back’I was asking a question and I just wanted a valid answer as to why she and he could breathe over my food whilst I was happy to stand outside as requested, luckily the fish was slightly better than his customer service.

Really great experience this evening being served . The fish and chips were huge in size and really tasty.

I had 2 fish and chips delivered to a hotel I was staying In. The service was great from start to finish. It was the best fish n chips I've had in a long time. The portion was huge , it was was roasting 🔥 and delicious. Highly recommended 👌 5 🌟 Websters.

I called in today for a fish butty, it was the best fish butty Iv ever had! Absolutely wonderful, so fresh and cooked to perfection, also the staff where great and friendly, even recommending I try there homemade tartar sauce, so glad I did as it’s the first time Iv tired it with fish from a chippy, unreal how nice it was I genuinely cannot recommend this any higher! I will be calling back when I’m in the area thanks.

Oh dear.Truly meteoric fall from grace. What was once a truly excellent example of a locally owned fish and chip restaurant is now a venue that I would not frequent except at the request of another person.I first came here 18 years ago and used to come regularly with my two young children where the standards of food and service were incredibly high. Over the years I have still eaten here regularly and today I feel will be my last visit.Today it took around 20m before our order was taken even though the restaurant had around 20 customers in. When the food came 3 items were missing and I eventually had to go the counter to ask for them as the service was so poor.My wife then had to send back her salad as the salmon was raw inside (bizarrely served on a hot plate!?!) and quite frankly inedible.My children then noticed their chips were almost hard i.e. also undercooked. Maybe this is a new chef on duty?I attach a photo of my plate. This is an example of what you get for ELEVEN POUNDS!This is not good. For 5.95 you can get this plus a drink at Wetherspoons.Such a shame.I wont be coming to Websters again. They need to increase their portions, improve their quality, and work on their service.Everything seems to have deteriorated and stuck 18 years ago.There is a wealth of choice 5 minutes away.
