Definitely a good find. Friendly staff, good food. Easy to park or access from the canal

This place really is secret! We planned to visit on a walk along the Rochdale canal as it's only 150 metres from the towpath. But there are no signs to help a thirsty traveller so make sure you are keeping an eye on Google maps or you'll miss it. Which would be a shame. Dog friendly. Clean. Big menu. Very fresh food. Reasonable price. Friendly staff.

Indoor and outdoor seating. Good for dogs. Worth a minor detour from the canal. Friendly staff. I had a lovely goats cheese and red onion marmalade salad. Friend had flapjack which she didn't enjoy quite as much.

We find it a really good spot & friendly & good food been many times now & always make it a point of calling in when I’m the area thanks Trev

The food is gorgeous, but the staff leave a little to be desired. We were sat outside & a couple arrived 5mins after us & were offered menu's before us. After going in & ordering drinks & getting a menu, the coffee duly arrived with out any sugar, which I'd asked for.The meal arrived, without condiments & gravy which again we'd asked for. It's not a major gripe, but a little more efficiancy from the staff would be appreciated.

Absolutely love it here, great value for money, home cooked food and friendly staff. Visit here regularly. 😃

4 of us called in today,we arrived at 11.30 so there wasn't any pies ready until 12.we had a breakfast and it was great value at £4.50 and was delicious. Next time we go will be for the pies, they look nice and they bake themselves. Very nice service and friendly staff. There is a one way in and one door for exit, not sure why as there doesn't seem a problem with people using both doors for entry and exit.

I visited here today for the first time with my friend for lunch. The food was lovely and fresh and the chips were amazing. The scone with jam and butter was delicious. Lovely little cafe tucked away nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely be going again in the very near future.

Best pies in Yorkshire. I had Steak and Kidney and wasn’t disappointed. Served with home made chips (like your Mum used to make) & mushy peas. Absolutely delicious. Helpful and friendly staff made a great lunch fantastic. I’ll be back.

Cannot recommend The Secret Cafe highly enough; it really is a hidden gem. Just a quick detour from the canal tow path if you're on a nice walk and want a quick cuppa or bite to eat; or (as we regularly do) you can order their delicious pies for delivery or collection. The pies really are fantastic. Lovely flavour combinations and good quality cuts of meat - with plenty of vegetarian alternatives if you need them. The lamb and minted pea pie is a taste sensation and we ALWAYS have one on-hand in our freezer for a tasty & quick midweek meal. This is a family run business; Pam, Harry and the rest of the team are such a friendly & happy bunch it makes the place so welcoming to visit. Cannot wait to try their Bisto Nights when we finally see the back of this pandemic!
