Friendly service, delicious food, easily on par with the top restaurants in Leeds. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

Looking at the reviews I hate to do this but we didn't have a good night. When we sat down we were given the menus but we were talking and discussing what we wanted when the waitress came over and asked what we wanted we said we weren't ready and she said she would give us a minute and that is exactly what she did. We said we still weren't quite ready and she rudely replied she would only give us another minute and then said the kitchen was closing. We chose what we wanted and the starters came which were not great. The mains then arrived and the naan breads were burnt and the mussels were bland. They looked like they had been put ontop of the sauce not cooked in it. My husbands chicken was ok but nothing special. We were with another couple who were very disappointed. The manager did ask us if she could bring anything else but we said no. By this time it was late. She did knock us some money off the bill but we were disappointed. Maybe we just got a bad night as the reviews are normally very good. It has been a long time since we were last there and it was definitely not the same. The one thing I was cross about more than the food was the rude waitress.

What a little treasure! We visited Brook's after my wife's sister saw a review in the Guardian and recommended we go (she lives in London so could not go herself). The restaurant is small and relaxed, well decorated without being pretentious. Offers a good selection of drinks particularly wines, though their ale selection was a bit limited. The food however was epic! And while it's is not a tapas restaurant, the sharing ethos of the dinner servings makes for a fun and varied eating experience. The treacle malt muffin off the small bites menu was exceptionally delicious, like warm Soreen, and the singular scallop was well cooked and beautifully presented. The small servings menu was delicious, we shared three dishes between the two of us, with the artichoke pasta with oyster mushrooms just pipping the black pudding dish as our favourite. The cod choice not so much, but don't let that fool you, they were all at worst very nice.We shared a large dish, the roast chicken offering accompanied with two side, a delightful pureed cauliflower dish and a caramelized cabbage option. All of which rounded the meal off in style. While not a criticism, more a reflection on my wife and I's preference, the dessert options did not quite appeal, but as we left and retired home to indulge in a food coma, this was no huge loss.Overall, Brook's comes highly recommended. The service was friendly & efficient, and the food being not short of exceptional!

OK, our experience at Brooks was, unexpectedly, historic.Quiet welcome for weary walkers on a Thursday lunch. Nice atmosphere. Unusual menu. Superb tastes. A bottle of nice wine. Good food, good delivery, good atmosphere. Good service, with a smile...... Will I go there again? Will it be as good? Let's see?

Such a fabulous restaurant, doesn't feel like you are in Brighouse, its really modern with an amazingly attentive team of staff.Coffee was to die for, i had decaf flatwhite which tasted lovely, really delicious veggie breakfast, was just the right amount of food!Im bringing my mum and mum in law in a couple of weeks as i think they'll love it, and it feels like an up market venue, a real to treat, without a huge price tag!

Visited Saturday lunch time for the first time and we were very impressed both by the food and the friendly staff. The atmosphere is relaxed and the Menu is not to busy. The food we had was delicious and well presented. Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

I previously reviewed thIs restaurant just over one year ago. Our return has been well overdue because of the Covid restrictions. The new owners, Lauren and Greg, have taken this wonderful restaurant to an even higher level. If it was possible to give more than a 5* review this is the one restaurant that I would do so. Fantastically refurbished to create a relaxing atmosphere. An imaginative menu (which is changed monthly) offering a range of very tasty, well presented dishes and a fine wine list. We hope to return very soon. A gem of a restaurant.
