Cafe Thai in Calderdale

Loved this place. Food was excellent and will def come back when I'm in the area

In my original review I complained that the staff don't get any tips that you put on your card. I've since spoken to Cafe Thai and they have said that although they don't encourage tipping as part of your card payment, (as it is difficult to share out at the end of the evening) if it does happen they reimburse the staff tips pot in cash and the pot is then shared amongst all the staff. I'm more than happy to be corrected as this is a truly fab restaurant. The food is to die for.

Im going to start by saying but I believe in totally honest reviews. Often you get positive reviews for the sake of appeasing etiquette. SO upon arrival at cafe Thai we were greeted by a lovely waitress who was extremely helpful. We were shown to our table and our drink orders were taken immediately. When the drinks were brought to our table by the waitress. I had concerns about out the meals that I wanted to have contained gluten on the menu. I asked the waitress if she could find out what it was in the curry that contained gluten. She went above and beyond the Call of Duty to find this out and quickly came back to the table and informed me that the meal that I wanted to eat the chef would prepare it gluten free. This alleviated my anxiety to such a degree but I decided to review This 5-star, (6 star if I could) The food was unreal. This is a bold statement however it is completely true. This is the best Thai food I have ever eaten, this includes travelling around Thailand and Southeast Asia. nicest flavours and richest ingredients were amalgamated to create such aromas that the nose comes alive with the tongue in a almost euphoric experience.Staff: amazingFood: five starSetting: next to the window so the experience was even better. The food was excellent as I am a Thai and I know that the food was authentic but the portion of my main course and the jasmine rice was too small for me and I don't want to order double portion as I think it was a little bit pricey already. The service was good. The waitresses were friendly. But the food didn't arrive at the same time for all of us, we had to wait then the food turned a little bit cold before we can all start at the same time. The music was good but it could be nicer if you have Thai music instead of English music as its a Thai restaurant. So for all these reasons I took 2 star away.

I don’t write reviews often but I could not wait to come home to write this one. I wanted to take my wife for something different and special and this was one of the most beautiful meals we have ever had. Waitresses were very beautiful and polite and really pleasant as well. The thing that impressed me the most were the ladies working in the kitchen which you can see as it is open and I could see them smiling and putting love in the food which is out of this world. THEY ARE JUST AMAZING AND DESERVE MUCH MORE THAN MY REVIEW. It became so rare to find something like that and then I find it in Halifax😊.They are the reason I will come back again and again. 5 star is not enough. See you soon. Much love… Sandra&Kresimir

So I'm about to hit 2 million photo views on Google Maps, very fitting it's here. Great service, great food, highly recommend. Not sure about the random onion ring on my prawns but let's not quibble lol

Great selection, good food, most difficult part of your visit will be choosing what to have. Slight grumble that you order rice/noodles separately rather than included in the main. Pictured is Beef Pad Kra Pow with rice noodles and a Chicken Thai Green Curry with Jasmine rice.

If you love Thai food then this is the place to try! We liked the idea of serving the different dishes as tapas as that way you get a little taste of all the fabulous dishes, quite a few of the little tasters are quite hot though so keep an eye out for those chillies 🔥. They do serve main meals too but didn’t sample them on this visit.

Cafe Thai is so lovely. Cant go wrong with the food, everything we had was spot on, and came out quickly. The staff are great and the atmosphere is super cozy. Definitely recommend!
