Chose wisely for a Sunday roast. All 4 of us had the beef. About £15 each. Everything on the plate was well cooked with a good and tastey veg selection and a super Yorkshire pud. The onion gravy was lush. Washed it down with a fizzy pint of Estrella lager. It was very busy but service was friendly and efficient. Only complaint being two unisex toilets; insufficient for a place this size plus our wives dislike sharing with men. I do not blame them. Restaurant to be found in the far right side corner of The Piece Hall.

Visited today when the Spring Market was on having visited previously. We did not mind waiting initially as it appeared busy. The food was of good quality however it was slightly marred by the fact that we requested salt, pepper and sauce and these never arrived, although the drinks ordered at the same time did. It may seem a small thing, and it is, but it's the little things that count and perhaps condiments could be more readily available

Lovely restaurant in the heart of Halifax' cultural quarter inside the Piece Hall.Excellent food selection, cosy atmosphere and very welcoming staff.Service was fast, and it was great to see a very young front of house team learning the ropes - even if they weren't always sure how to serve the wine!Definitely recommended.

Looked promising, initial impressions good but then they "forgot" our food order! When it did arrive - sandwiches made with pre grated cheap cheddar, basic bread and margarine, veggie burger was straight from a frozen packet served on dry bun, salad was awful as pre dressed and so totally wilted and inedible, hand- cut chips were huge, partly raw wedges, not chips at all. Serving staff disinterested, didn't check all was OK or if we needed drinks etc. No sign of a Manager, poor young staff left to flounder. Yes, it was busy but no excuse for cheap, mediocre food and poor service.

We thought we'd try here after reading on a Facebook page that they were offering vegan options, I would say if you are vegan, don't bother. My partner had the burger, a sloppy green thing held together with breadcrumbs., served on a dry bun with a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato.I chose the vegan salad, all sounded very nice, but was lacking in flavour, definitely no fennel, a scant few tiny cubes of sweet potato and finely sliced padron peppers, so tiny they gave no flavour whatsoever.Poor for the money, you would get a better burger at a chain pub, and cheaper.Service was good though, the staff were very friendly.

A beautiful place with fast and polite service. Yummy food and coffee. Very reasonable pricing and cozy atmosphere.

Having recently moved back to West Yorkshire, I visited the Piece Hall in Halifax today for the first time in three years and stumbled on this place for a solo lunch. It’s very unusual for me but I had a craving for a good hamburger, I think it must have been the result of 3 consecutive vegetarian days. They serve a very good 8.0 oz burger here, beefy, succulent and served simply in a nice bread roll (not brioche, thankfully, for a change) with lettuce, tomato & red onion & pretty good fries for £10 which was extremely good value. As I knew what I wanted I didn’t really pay much attention to the rest of the menu but everything going to nearby tables looked good.Service was extremely efficient, warm and friendly. They also offer two types of nearby (Hebden Bridge) Vocation Brewery beer on draught and they keep it very well indeed.I’ll definitely come back here with my family & friends.

Overnight stay for some work, the pictures on the website encouraged me to visit here. Good for solo dining, staff were friendly and the place is has character. The food was good I’d recommend the pork belly scratchings. The larger plates are big portions, I cld not finish my seafood salad. Good music and options of outdoor and indoor dining. Defo give it a go
