Golden Sea in Calderdale

Found this place last November as there are no Chinese restaurants in Halifax and was not disappointed as we have been back many times as the food and friendly service is excellent.

That has to be the worst Chinese I’ve ever tasted the beef curry had a funny taste and only 8 small pieces of beef the satay chicken dry as a bone and salt and pepper chicken is slimey and no taste as for the salt and pepper chips they must of forgot and added a little salt at the end I travelled 5 miles for this meal just to take one bite and throw in the bin avoid this place at all cost i for one will never go here again yucky 🤢

Great food, very tasty indeed. Recommend the Pak Far Rolls for sure! When dining in on a weekday, it’s great. The hostess is lovely and she’s very good at her role(s). The problem is there’s only one of her, so if you dine in at the weekend it’s quite awkward - you don’t want to add to her workload by asking for anything!Feels like they don’t really want to have a restaurant. If they went all out and hired more staff/updated the restaurant decor and expanded dining tables into the bar area, I’m sure they could be very successful, the food quality and the standard service is all there. As it is, it’s a solid 4 stars.

We ordered a takeaway and the food was good and reasonably priced. Friendly service on collection.

Wonderful service. The woman serving us was incredibly polite and accommodating to my slightly awkward order. She kept making sure we were comfortable, even down to checking the music wasn't too loud.The food was amazing. I really enjoyed the salt and pepper chicken, vermicelli and hong kong duck.The prices were incredibly reasonable especially considering portion size.We will certainly go again.

I started going to Golden Sea since 2017 - food is always fresh and hot with decent portion sizes. Take out is also cooked fresh and hot, the only negative is that delivery is not an option. Most dishes I have tried so far were delicious, with a couple of things I was not too keen on (personal preference). So far this is my favourite Chinese restaurant/take out in Brighouse and the only place in Brighouse that does their satay sauce right! Staff is always very friendly and recognises me and my SO everytime we come for a sit in meal or to pick up a take out. I cannot recommend this place enough.
