Kipling's Restaurant Sowerby Bridge in Calderdale

This evening we decided to order a take away from Kiplings. I had a chicken korma and my partner ordered a speciality dish. Both were absolutely lovely. We’ll definitely be ordering again.

My all time favourite curry house. Early bird special is a bargain, food is pure quality and very tasty. The service you cannot fault they are all fantastic and welcoming when you are there. We've been a few times now and we 100% recommend making a visit here. You will not be disappointed..

Staff are friendly, attentive and professional. The menu had plenty of veggie choices and we weren't disappointed with our meals. Took advantage of the 'early bird offer', good value and decent portions, will definitely be back.

Overflowing with oil 🤮 Nearly had a heart attack just looking at it. After taking it out of the bag and putting on the table its now stained! Disgusting

I have had a take a way from here before and the have been excellent, not so now. The Onion Bargees were dried out around the edges, a sure sign that they have been nuked in a microwave, but the curry was far worse. I ordered a Chicken Bhuna - a Bhuna is supposed to be almost dry with little sauce/gravy. This was a sloppy mess with a dozen or so lumps of chicken floating in a thick lumpy sauce and the onions & peppers were still crunchy. It was too far to go back to the "restaurant" so I started eating. Halfway through I had had enough and threw the rest away - see photo. I have had better curries from back street curry shops that from this "restaurant", and at half the price. Never again.

Waited over 3 hours for delivery on a Saturday night. When I did get through on the phone the guy was apologetic but just said it was busy. By the time it arrived it was late and was disappointing. A shame as we've eaten in the restaurant before and enjoyed it. If we'd known how long it would take we wouldn't have ordered. I think there needs to be more honesty over realistic delivery times or stop taking orders if it's very busy.

Dead friendly staff that were both a bit eager to clear our plates (I'd not finished my starter before it disappeared) possibly a bit shy too but there you go. The food was delicious and would definitely recommend Lucy's special!

My friend and I ordered a couple of meals to be delivered last night through the Uber Eats app. Even though it took nearly two hours to arrive, the food was lovely. We had chosen to pay cash on delivery and the driver charged us the full price without the Uber discount. I thought I had made a mistake until I checked the receipt today. The transaction was showing as a 'pending, hold' and detailed that the amount would be void very soon and not charged to my credit card. I phoned the restaurant today and spoke to Max to query the amount and was told he would look into this and call me back. He did so, very promptly, to advise me that the driver had stated that he did not take any cash from us and that he didn't believe me because the driver is one of the manager's at the restaurant.Lovely food but some kind of scam going on, please be aware of this when paying cash.

Very disappointed. Waited for 45 minutes for our main meal, waitress did chase it and kept telling us it was on its way. When main eventually arrived it was luke warm at best, sent it back and it was returned just wanted on top - not good when it's prawns! Restaurant seemed more interested in the takeaway side.

Absolutely shocking service, over 2 hours since we ordered and still waiting. Put the phone down on me when I queried where it was. We have ordered a few times and the delivery times have always been ridiculously long but safe to say we will not be ordering again. If you are unable to provide a delivery service within a reasonable time frame then don't offer the service. A shame as the food is usually nice but we do not want to wait over 2 hours for it!
