Walking in to this hospitable place with logs burning in the fireplace and fine ales served by friendly faces after getting soaked in driving rain on the bleak moors is a most glorious thing.Remarkable whisky collection as well !

What a great pub, lovely atmosphere. And the food is delicious and a decent portion and not expensive. You won't be disappointed if you visit.

We found this nice cosy pub on our walk literally in middle of nowhere. Such a nice treat to have a beer after long walk in beautiful countryside.

Still a great pub, up on the moors above Hebden Bridge. The new management are finding their feet. The food menu is great, but the range of beer on tap is a little limited.

Excellent food, interesting menu not just ordinary pub food.. Friendly staff with a nice relaxed atmosphere... Highly recommended.

It was our first visit under the new management. Reminds us of the original pub we loved going to years back. Food and service great.Will be eating there regularly.

UPDATED 10/3NOW OPEN. Visited today (6/3/2022). The Pack Horse has reopened, under new management. While they're getting up and running just open at the weekend 12.00 till late(Saturday and Sunday). Currently cash only until the Internet is sorted. Food and extended hours to follow. White Rat and Nettle Thrasher cask beers available, the White Rat was sampled and was very good. A popular place for walkers and cyclists and even with a temporary limited service very popular.UPDATE 10/3 Open from 5.00 Friday (no food currently on Friday) On Saturday and Sunday Food available, open from 12.00.

Very happy to visit this 17 century pub. Food tasted great and came pretty quick. Nice and cosy atmosphere with real fireplaces. 🍺
