Plenty of Fish & Chips in Calderdale

The quality is too hit or miss I'm afraid. Sometimes the chips are great, other times they are so over cooked they are inedible and today was the final straw when half of them were raw. I've given this place plenty of chances but I won't be going back again.

We have been coming here consistently every few weeks or so for years and unfortunately the last few times over several months maybe 6 months its quality and taste has been sliding downwards…culminating in the worst experience yet !Picked up fish, chips and mushy peas and after getting all the way home discovered:1. The Chips and i mean 95% were basically raw and i dont mean just a few hard ones i mean completely uncooked - they must have been dipped in oil that was not hot enough and pulled out way way too early.2. The Fish was as it has been a few times now not the lovely fresh deep fillet coated in crispy fresh batter that it was well known for but a thin frazzled chewy joke…we kept hoping it was just a blip and things would get back to normal but this cheap stuff seems to be the way now…3. This last point is the most disappointing - The Fish was off , i mean you could actually smell it was even after it was frazzled. Yes we did just have the hot weather so maybe the refrigerator / freezer was struggling however in my opinion the smell must have been noticeable to whoever was taking the fish out to do the batteringI’m posting this more as a plea for the current owner to revert back to what was once a top, top, top quality place to get Fish and Chips - in fact the best by far for miles around !

Foods pretty standard for a Chippy, good price. For me the chips always need a bit longer and every time we go they either forget something (and then claim we didn't order it even tho we did) or they don't have 1 of the items we want.

Fish and chips from a trailer chip shop? Not only were these top quality fish and chips they are in the best category for fish and chips. I certainly didn't expect it to taste so good. Good portions, tasty fish cooked while you wait. Prompt service with a smile. I know about fish and chips having travelled the country from Scotland to the south coast, always tasting the local fish and chips. These are up there with the best. Thanks luv. 🙏

Shocking! Half the menu was unavailable. Opted for a flaming veggie burger, no cheese, no jalapenos and no salad. The place is an absolute joke, never to return. I'd rather starve than pay for such poor service

Fish and chips are pretty good, all cooked whilst you wait, sometimes it's quite a wait outside in the cold especially if the demand is high, but beggars can't be choosers as its the only outlet within a couple of miles.

Food delivered well within time frame ...fish was lovely ...chips a bit on the dark side but that how I like them ...curry sauce lovely and thick ..all in all myself and partner enjoyed our tea tonight 😁

Went here as partner is vegetarian and wanted chips and pie. Chips were crunchy and very dark (mottled) and mostly inedible. I had small fish and chips but my chips were better but still chewy and fish grey and not fresh white. Wanted it to be so much more but disappointed.

It was great to find out that this place delivers via Just Eat. When it's frosty it is great to be able to order early and have it just turn up (5 minutes early this time) and piping hot. Portions are big, as is usual for chippies - we three oldies got a mini fish and chips each and there were still too many chips. They have veggie and vegan options too, which I hope to try soon.
