Shears Inn Paris Gates in Calderdale

A lovely inn. Been here for years, one of central Halifax best kept secrets. A little off the beaten track, but worth a visit if you value the quality of your ale.The food is also decent and good value for money.

Crystal clear persuasion. The Timothy Taylor's goes down like nectar. Then the food. You definitely get what you pay for! I'd rather dine in bar than drink in a restaurant!

Haven't been for 25 yearsor more as my dad played for Paris Gates cricket club, was lovely to go back. Staff were marvellous food was out of this world! Highly recommend!!

Lovely lunch. The food was really tasty and the portions were generous. The lady who served us was really friendly and very accommodating. The diversion signs at the top of the hill confused us initially, but glad we persevered.

Hidden secret of a pub, and a real gem ! Fabulous food and beer, and great, friendly service, and all at very reasonable prices.

Nice little cosy pub with an open fire lovely and warm good selection of draught beers didnt eat here but the menu looked really good will defo return for food in the future also think it has a few guest rooms.

First time I've been here, but will definitely return. What a lovely very old pub. The service was fantastic, very polite lady. I ordered the small portion of belly pork roast dinner and it was plenty big enough for me, very tasty and very reasonable priced. I would say that I didn't really like the pork as I wouldn't of said it was belly pork, more of a pork roll but in their defence I did order only 15 minutes before the kitchen closed.

I would like to thank all the lovely staff at this fabulous pub/restaurant for making my mom's wedding day so special!! The food was lovely and fresh well done to the kitchen staff, had a fab time !!!!! Massive thankyou from all the family !! Highly recommended!!!!!

Halifax's amazing hidden gem. Great beers to satisfy any CAMRA member, the food was wide and varied and tasted amazing. Last but definitely not least was the staff. From the moment we arrived they could not have been more helpful or friendly. It impressed us so much we have made a further 2 bookings.
