Sultan Mahal in Calderdale

Got a takeaway from here this evening for four of us. Ordered at half 6 and eventually turned up at half 8!!. They missed a portion of seek kebabs so we rung for them bringing which they appeared to not be interested by in the mistake. Curries were extremely oily and very bland in both flavour and heat. Samosas and chapatis were ok but the mint sauce has to be one of the worst I've ever had! Seemed to have split and had water settled on the top of a pink coloured sauce that wasn't very pleasant unfortunately. Overall for the takeaway we've just waited for its a 1/10. Service shocking, wait time shocking, and the food itself below par.

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement! I’ve been going to this restaurant for years and ordering from them for years but today is a disgrace! I ordered a curry very very mild and what arrived was something as hot as a vindaloo. When we called the restaurant to complain and ask for a replacement we were denied, spoke to rudely and hung up on! Disgraceful!!! Never ordering again!

Starter was lovely chicken tikka and masala fish shared with my partner then we had chicken dopiaza one Asian style hot alone medium and garlic and coriander naan all of witch was lovely

Well, it had a taste of Korma but it was really watery like dish water. The only reason there are 2 stars is because unlike every other takeaway around here… it was actually a Naan bread and not a pizza base pretending to be one.

Meal just ok not as good as it was before I was a regular 2to 3time a month went Friday night staff all vaping at th bar food was a let down will not be going again lost my custom

Food was horrible. Staff were rude. Chefs were screaming like headless chickens. Ordered chicken curry and the chicken was raw. Ordered a lamb curry and it had more oil then flavour and approximately 4 pieces of lamb in it. They were so stingey Water tasted like it had salt in it. Asked for a 2nd jug and they hadn't washed the jug properly, the water tasted even worse. Like drain water. cutlery was rusty and old. If you want to be disappointed... SULTAN MAHAL is the place to go..

Worst food i have had in my life!!! i found mould in my food!!! I would not recommend. Read my other reviews i am honest and Sultan mahal was awful. Curry taste like fairy liquid and drinks was like toilet cleaner , i should have walked out! I am disappointed and wasted my money

I ordered a halwa Puri and it was disgusting. It had orange skin and black bits in it😅if ya wana be disappointed here is deffo the place t go

I don't live locally so don't get to go to the Sultan Mahal very often. I do have friends that are local though, so have been meeting them here sporadically over the last 10 or so years.For me (and my friends), the Sultan Mahal has never disappointed. Portion size is good, and the pricing is very fair. The food is consistently of a high standard, and honestly some of the tastiest curry I've ever had. I particularly recommend the Meat Thali.I also like that you can customise any curry, choosing to have it mild, medium or hot. They'll even accommodate a request for medium-hot if you're looking for something in-between. One of my friends likes extra coriander, and another likes his garlic nan extra crispy. The staff have always been happy to help with these adjustments.Overall, one of my favourite places to eat. Will definitely be returning!

This is an honest review of this place. Don't go. The worst food I have ever experienced. The sparkling water tasted like drain cleaner. I should have left at that point. All three of us took one taste of the main and left it. This is not curry. It was like sugared dog food and did not taste anything like a curry.The place is dirty and the glasses were filthy. Read my other reviews, I am honest and tell it how it is. Save your money and your health.
