Trip down memory lane , haven't been for years. Pleased to be back, excellent menu, all 4 of us had something different and we weren't disappointed. Efficient ,friendly service, great food, value for money. Definitely be back.

As this pub has only just reopened and isn't yet serving food, this rating is based solely upon the warm friendly welcome we received, the condition of the lager we drank, the wonderful building itself and its cleanliness. Hoping that translates into the food.Have returned to find the food of excellent quality, as were the two bottles of wine we had with our meals.Just one very minor detail I would like to see modified, the layout of the wine list. One white wine is hidden away on the back under cocktails, and the wines that are not sold by the glass do not have a price next to them at all. Most irritating having to ask the waitress.

We were a party of 11 and the staff were brilliant. The food was excellent with loads of veg. The menu may have been a little restricted, but that's no bad thing in my opinion. A little more ventilation to combat covid would be desirable. The pub is in a very nice setting with a decent car park. Would definitely go again.

Absolutely amazing food. The chef should be congratulated. Not very often i say this either. The prawn starter followed by the sirloin steak was excellent. The whole family was impressed by the food. The service was excellent. Recommended definitely

This is a lovely place. Just changing hands, so no food or soul yet, but I suspect it will come back to life at some point.

We're from the US, and went to the Hinchliffe Arms because our last name is Hinchliffe! The food was absolutely delicious. We loved the atmosphere and the history they had of our family. We told our waitress that we were Hinchliffe's and she was super nice and engaging about it. She let us take one of their beautiful slate coasters and a couple of menus back as souvenirs. It's beautifully tucked into the countryside and well worth a trip. We would definitely make the trek back here to visit and have an amazing meal.

Amazing food, possibly some of the best around. Chef and staff were a delight

This is a beautiful hidden away bar restaurant, set in the midst of Cragg Vale, having the longest continous incline in England but finding the road off this incline to the Hinch is easy, just find a bend in the road with a signpost to the Hinch. There is ample parking, outside seating and an outside veranda (didn't go there though). The restaurant features a tartan carpet, high ceilings and big windows. Service was excellent, with witty attentive staff, who made sure you enjoyed your visit. The food was excellent, very well presented and their take on the scotch egg has to be tried, it is lovely! A big mention for the big burger, mouth watering and very filling. Once fed and watered, there are woodland and moorland walks to starting at the door.

Fabulous. Incredible setting, great front of house who couldn't do enough for you & the food speaks for itself. Has to be one of the best country food pubs in Yorkshire, if not anywhere. Not cheap but worth every penny, good mixture of classic pub food & more adventurous plates such as Grouse. A true gem.
