The Maypole Inn in Calderdale

We attended a surprise party and it was lovely. The staff were great. The garlic mushroom starter just perfection. The chicken tikka Mason was so nice but I only ate a small portion because I was so full. The maypole has really gone up, in my estimations. Will definitely visit again. We'll done chef!!!

Lovely, friendly pub in the centre of a small village. Very good vegetarian choices on the menu. All food was delicious, and we would definitely return. They now have a covered eating area outside as well, where dogs are welcome

Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere on every occasion. Staff are knowledgeable and attentive. Service is of the highest standards and food is excellent quality all at a very reasonable price. I’d recommend to book a table early to avoid disappointment as popular menu items may run out

Great food with friendly service at a very good price

The food was well done and not too overpriced. The portions were a good size and generally left feeling happy (though gutted I couldn't manage a pudding). I had the blue cheese chicken which was super tasty.I think the best part of the dining experience was the staff, there were plenty of people serving and all were attentive and very fast. The maître d was wonderful too, he seemed to have lots of personality and genuinely seemed concerned when we left.I'm looking forward to going again as I want to try the steak next time

Really disappointed with this place had some good dining experiences in the past. My wife and I entered via the carpark side of the pub first thing we saw was a lovely open fire, barman/manager very welcoming and friendly. we were shown to our table at the other side of the pub. It was freezing lady on the next table had her coat wrapped around her legs. The food was OK we understand all hospitality has been hard hit by the pandemic. But I feel to be tempted back out dining regularly, standards in all areas of our experience at the Maypole Inn need to be raised.

The food here was fantastic and well worth a short wait as you could tell it was freshly cooked. They even let me mix two options on the menu without any issue. The only thing stopping a 5* was having to wait for service to get another drink as the staff didn’t come and check. The food was 5* though.

Just been for a meal with family for my birthday. Fabulous, great staff, great rapport. Four different dishes and desserts all fantastic. Had a couple of beers. It was also tremendous value which was a bonus. It's great for me when I come back to the area to have good food and drink options. I/we will be back. Thanks to all.

A great find! Pretty decent pub food with a hugely extensive menu and very respectable prices. Great service too.

Very accommodating, beautiful setting, high quality food... only downside was that the vegetarian roast that we had was just a normal roast with no meat, no meat alternative was offered and the price is the same, so effectively removing the bit that constitutes the value but with no reduction in cost.
