As we was going to a funeral, we thought the hotel looked very relaxing on the website, so we rang and booked two rooms. On arrival however, it was anything but relaxing. We was told there had been no food for ten weeks or drink, as the restaurant and the pub had been sold. We had to go around the area to find an eating place for the evening which we was not familiar with. The room was too hot, again we was told that there was a problem with the heating but the plumbers could not fix, halve of the hotel was cold and we was in the hottest part, so we roasted all night and the bathroom was a sickly heat. The next morning we had to put on our attire for the funeral and find somewhere for our breakfast. We thought this hotel would have said when we booked that there was nowhere to eat, drink and relax. Instead we was upset even more and the morning of your mothers funeral is stressful enough without all the extra stress we had to endure finding another place to eat. We was given £5 each back for not being able to have breakfast. They should notbe advertising bed and breakfast when they have closed everything down because they had sold it. So no I would NOT recommend this hotel.

After reading some of the reviews I was expecting horror. People need to look at the price they are paying and then having a expectation. The guy at reception was brill had a bit of banter and was honest about the rooms etc. Paul who was in the bar for breakfast was also very polite with everyone he came across always smiling. Parking 5/5 hospitality 5/5 rooms 4/5. Much better then a travel lodge....

We had the best 3 nights here the rooms are lovely and clean! The staff are so friendly and relaxed and couldn't do enough for us!! We had our daughter and best friend who are 12 with us and they are great with kids too! Highly recommend staying here we will be booking again soon!!

We booked here for a funeral as a bed and breakfast to find when we got there, there was no meals no bar just a room so before we could relax we had to find somewhere to eat that night and again for breakfast before the funeral. The room was fine and clean and the staff were polite which made the stay better.its now been changed on the site to room only so no one else will be disappointed.

I enjoyed my stay here overnight with my granddaughter. It was very quiet and relaxing had a good nights sleep.Massive bed just for the two of us and lovely big bath sheets. The staff were very pleasant and friendly and couldn't do eenoughto assist.Included in the price was a delicious full breakfast there was plenty of every thing.I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We booked a Groupon deal for four people. Nice place but the service was poor to say the least. We ordered Sunday roast for two and one lamb and one pork. The waiter told us beforehand you get a portion of vegetables per two people. We got one and the waiter asked if we would like more gravy. We said we did and asked if we could have the other portion of vegetables. We did not get either and when asked if we enjoyed our meal we told them about this but didn't get much of an apology or response. We decided against the tip! The food was quite nice to be fair, hence the two stars or would have been less.

We had our wedding reception here. Very reasonably priced and did not try to rip us off like many wedding venues do. Paul was super helpful and good discount on rooms for our guests. The function room was beautifully set up. Many thanks from Adi, Steve and guests xxx

To be honest 3 stars is generous. The rooms are all very tired with poorly fitting carpets and shabby furniture. The room we had didn't have working plug sockets. The staff however are at least polite and helpful.

Absolutely awful! Paid way over the odds for a disabled/acessable room and firstly handrails were wobbly, the shower stool was cheap and nasty and wobbled too very dangerous. No bin in the wetroom. Cheap decor and exposed wires on the radiators which didn't work. No extractor fan in the wetroom and as a consequence mould was beginning to form and the smoke alarm right outside the wetroom door goes off with steam. Terrible lumpy cheap spring mattress and flat pillows which for a disabled room was awful. Got no sleep due to everything creaking loudly and the door hinges squealing and banging at literally all hours. Patio doors onto balcony bit didnt shut or lock.Breakfast may have been wonderful local produce but it was overcooked and ruined. Drawers and wardrobes badly made up, drawer fronts didn't fit properly. Very small wetroom sink meant you couldn't fill the kettle even if you wanted a cheap nasty teabag.Oh and good luck getting WiFi. Non existent.Saving grace of this hotel was it was clean, staff were friendly and it was close to the venue we were going to a wedding at.

Got taken here for 'Afternoon Tea' for my birthday. Both me and my friend really enjoyed it, the food was lovely and so was the service. Will definitely be going again, the new decor and scenes give a lovely warm feeling to the place. 😊
