We went here for a belated Fathers Day Sunday lunch. We couldn’t make the actual day a week earlier as we’d got married the day before.Firstly, the staff are incredible. I’ve been here several times, often with my newly acquired mother in law who has Alzheimer’s. They are so patient and understanding without us having to explain her condition. They do a damned good Sunday roast lunch, their bar snacks are very good too.A very good selection of beer, served well in a very nice space.Oh, and the staff are lovely!

Incredible time here. The service was the best we’ve had in a long time, staff were wonderful. Salt and pepper calamari was gorgeous. Loved the fish and chips. Partner said his pork belly was delicious and the lamb was very tasty, his preference is just to have it a bit rarer. Side of broccoli and beans were great too! We went on a Thursday evening and it was nice and quiet and spacious upstairs.

Lovely food, friendly staff and a great choice of drinks. Stumbled on the old gate bar by chance when the ale trail pub we had planned on visiting was absolutely rammed. Very fortuitous and will return on the next ale trail. Dog friendly too which is a bonus.

What a fabulous place to eat. As we walked through the door. We thought what a pleasant pub to eat then we were guided upstairs to the restaurant and got a totaly different feel. Beautifuly presented and the food was great and prices were very reasonable. The cocktails went down a treat and the puddings finished the Sunday lunch. And to top it off the service was exceptional. Well done . Will recommend you to any one visiting hebden. You deserve more than five stars.

Very nice decor and pleasant atmosphere. Nice staff and customers. Unfortunately the vegetarian risotto was pretty tasteless. Others liked their choices. Had I let them know am sure they would have changed it but it was a social celebration so didn't want to spoil the atmosphere. Would def go again

A great pub with great ale options. Only stayed for one drink but was made to feel welcome. Lovely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Top notch bar this, whether just popping in for drinks after a walk or a sit down meal, always a warm welcome, food absolutely superb and well priced, and then there's the ale!!! Guaranteed to be a tremendous selection every time you call in, lovely traditional pub with a modern edge to it, dog friendly and really great service and staff, outside area for those that fancy it, I highly recommend this pub.

Lovely relaxing Sunday afternoon drinks,Very friendly staff and a super breakfast the following morning 😑

First time yesterday and we had a great lunchtime visit - staff were fab, especially the young man who looked after our table. Super friendly, checking in to make sure all ok and really felt like nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately not always the case with lots of places you visit these days so bravo to him and the rest of the lovely staff at the Gate! Food was lovely and will be back :)

Called in for a drink and was swayed by the bar snacks menu as it all sounded lovely. Decided to sit outside as the weather was decent and the heated booths outside were very appealing to take the October chill from the air.Toilets very clean and the staff very friendly. But back to the bar snacks! Wow! 3 for £12 and absolutely worth it. We opted for Mozzarella sticks, chunky chips and focaccia bread with all came with olives, Napoli sauce, Aoili sauce and Olive oil.Everything was absolutely beautiful. Definitely recommend a visit!
