Wonderful Chinese Takeaway in Calderdale

As most do, on Christmas eve we decided to get a takeaway, and who else better than Wonderful Chinese? The chicken balls served with sweet chilli sauce are absolutely incredible!

Food was about 1£ per dish more than London prices. Showed up more than 1hr late. General standard of the food was ok apart from the fact that they had literally sprinkled granulated sugar over it to the extent that some of it was inedible(see picture of the seaweed, it was like eating sugar from the bag!) Felt like I was getting diabetes by the end of it. Make it cheaper and stop pouring sugar over everything you have a pretty good takeaway but as it is I won’t use it again.

Cold food inedible spare ribs battered grisly mess even my cats wouldn't eat waited 2 hour for delivery

Shocking food. Ribs tiny, tasteless and no meat on them but plenty of batter to hide that fact.King prawns battered again. Not fresh by any means and tasteless.Chicken wings, battered yet again, tasteless .Dont waste your money. Seriously unimpressed and absolute rip off

Omg don't waste yor time salt and pepper ribs, wings, prawns. I could only tasted butter , no meat on ribs, no pepper , I managed eat 3 my stomach bloated can't physically eat this 😫

This review is an honest and truthful opinion based on our first, and definitely last purchase from this take away.Anyone who says this is authentic Chinese needs to give their head a proper good shake and maybe a quick slap, we spent £45 and genuinely feel robbed.The picture below is of the £6.50 starter for 2, 2 of what exactly, baby hobbits??? This isn’t even a starter for one!!! Not to mention this junk tastes like it’s fresh out of a frozen bag from Lidl down the road.Salt and pepper chips were less than basic, literally chips with salt and pepper and a bit of onion, extremely lower than expectation in comparison to JK’s in hebden bridge, salt and pepper special was diabolical.Chicken Satay was basic and bland with very little ingredients compared to other local take always.Special fried rice was far from special with 2 bits of what looked like sun dried beef, 2 prawns and 2 bits of chicken.**Definitely not worth the money, nor the wait.**

Dreadful service. If you want to eat on time do not order from this place. 3 hours has been the longest we've had to wait as the delivery time got pushed later and later. Would never recommend to anyone.They also clearly take their phone off the hook so you can't call to complain or cancel.Avoid like the Covid!

Ordered before their opening hours so that we could be their first order because I know they are renowned for being late, we are still waiting at 6:30. Cant even call to chase this up as they have quite clearly taken the phone of the hook! the lines been busy for over 20 minutes 🙄.Never ordering from here again!

The change of staff is a great improvement. Have had three meals recently and all very good. Would have been 5 stars but the takeaway shop is dull and always looks run down.
