I have visited Skipton many times over recent decades , more recently have noticed this restaurant and have considered having lunch only to be put off by the place being packed out .We visited the town Thursday 14th April 2022 and noticed it looked less busy at around 1.00pm so gave it a try. The restaurant has undergone substantial upgrading several years ago. On the day of our visit it was quite warm for the time of year with bright sunshine , our table was situated by a window with the roller blind down it was a little uncomfortable and felt the heat of the sun . I can imagine in the hotter months being a problem, it could be improved by the installation of solar control blind or film on the window. The room had a air conditioning chiller but was not working during our vist .The restaurant is maintained to very clean with high hygiene standards, a toilet is available including for disabled access . The staff were both friendly and customer focused a credit to the management. We had the seniors fish & chips, slice of bread, cup of tea, followed by ginger sponge & custard. The restaurant offers an extensive menu which will satisfy the majority of visitors. The quality of the meal was exceptional from the size of fish to the light crispy batter. The meal was served quickly freshly cooked retaining the temperature upon presentation. The ginger sponge and custard was delicious the custard tasted to be freshly made which added to the experience .Very few similar restaurants are anywhere near as good I have visited many over the years. We will visit again soon and recommend this establishment without any reservation.

Really impressed by the separate gluten free menu. Mushy peas were delicious but chips were not as good as I have had elsewhere. Great view overlooking the water.

Good for little ones. I love to come here with my two year old daughter. The staff are very friendly and provide paper and crayons to occupy her. The food is really nice too. Kids menu includes and ice-cream treat.

First visit back this year in 2022 we try to visit Skipton as much as we can. The restaurant was very well organized & clean staff wore visors. Hand sanitizer when entering & toilet facilities very clean. The fish & chips was excellent as usual my GF battered fish was delicious. Well done Bizzie Lizzie's. 🙂🌈

Must have changed supplier. Miserably small and dry pieces of chicken. Used to be large and juicy and filled my tray. Chips were flaccid and under-cooked. For what they charge, they really should be doing better. My last few experiences (fish included) have been awful and I don’t think I’ll be returning. Bizzie Lizzie’s, what’s happened to you? Complacency?

Beautiful fish and chips. Always consistent. A great time to visit when you get a window table overlooking the canal. Marvellous. The staff are professional and really look after you. Of course there are many other things on the menu but you are at a top fish and chip restaurant why would you want anything else.Marvellous enjoyable happy

Sunday lunchtime takeaway, no one in, served immediately.Fish & chips twice, large peas & two sachets of ketchup = £18-50.Unfortunately when we arrived at our designated eating spot, upon opening the bag, there was no ketchup but two tubs of curry sauce (which was inedible, good shops have moved on from this wallow), peas tasted OK but had black ones in, chips good, fish tasteless and previously frozen.I was hoping it would have changed since my last visit a few years back.Service was pleasant although incorrect, but I realise the difficulty trying to hear people from behind a mask. The reason for two stars instead of one.

My husband and I decided to get fish & chips as we wouldn’t be home until late. I wish we hadn’t bothered. It was a greasy mess. There was so much grease on the fish, the batter wasn’t crispy. The chips ended up with a coating of oil from the fish. The actual fish was tasty, which is the only reason for the one star. The chips were tasteless. We won’t be back.

Professional service and very friendly. Great fish. They'll batter any of their fish in gluten free batter. My wife had the Gluten Free battered plaice which was so good, so light I wished I'd had the Gluten Free jumbo haddock the batter on which was excellent, crispy and no soft bits.Clean, new environment and excellent really clean toilet with visible cleaning record. First class lunch.
