Where is Cavendish Pavilion?

🏠 Bolton Abbey, Skipton BD23 6AN

"Located on the banks of the River Wharfe in the parkland of Bolton Abbey is a pavilion quite unlike anywhere else. It’s the perfect place to fuel your soul, Yorkshire-style. Situated in the heart of The Bolton abbey estate, the Cavendish Pavilion is the perfect riverside venue for refreshments and a bite to eat as part of your family day out – serving hot and cold drinks, hand-made cakes, sandwiches and hot food everyday. Opened in 1980, it very much resembles a Victorian style station building. In the evening, in its magical setting, the Cavendish Pavilion is transformed into a fantastic party venue."

A nice choice of drinks and food, but the sandwiches are so so expensive (same sandwich provider as airedale hospital, but what costs £1.99 there is £4.50 here). Beautiful hot chocolate, and home made cakes that look amazing.Plenty of tables free, both inside and outside.Visited the Easter trail today, plenty of space in the carpark, not too crowded.

Below average cafe, seling uninspiring food. Think of a plain cheese sandwich sold in a petrol station and you'd be on the right lines. All served to you on disposable cups and plates.Such a shame, given the lovely location.Take your own sandwiches or go somewhere else.

A large, bright tea room with plenty of seating inside and outside. The food is simple but tasty - there's a selection of pre-packaged sandwiches, savoury pastries, and toasties, as well as soup and cakes.

Lovely little stop off for a cuppa when walking along the Bolton abbey river walk, shame the car parking is so expensive - £12.50 per car!!😤

Good selection of teas, coffee and food. Outdoor seating also provided. Little expensive but probably in line with the costs of places like Starbucks and Costa. All in all, I didn't begrudge paying £12 for four hot drinks. The site is well maintained and its little businesses like this and the nominal charge for parking/ entrance that fund its upkeep. Well worth it in my opinion.

Second visit in a couple of months and same story..Firstly the barista boils the milk without a temp gauge so the milk is over heated and too hot to drink for ages...speed also slow to stop..Secondly when you pay for a toasted buttered current teacake you don't expect to have to attempt to spread hard butter with a plastic knife, appreciate we were sat outside and therefore considered a risk with a metal knife. Also the teacakes went in and out of the automated toaster so quick they were still untoasted. I had to ask for another couple of round the toaster and even then barely toasted. I appreciate if your here for a walk fine, but much better cafes in the village ..

We visited the Cavendish Pavilion CAFE on our visit to Bolton Abbey after our 9 mile river walk , the last time we visited was a few years ago when we were presented with well cooked tasty warm food served correctly With crockery and cutlery , now you have to queue up to purchase pre-packed sandwiches and a coffee and hot chocolate served in paper cups , it’s not cheap and they could do far better ,The building is large and could be a little goldmine if ran correctly by somebody Who cares about customer service and standards , and for a place with so many dog walkers it isn’t even dog friendly , overall we were very disappointed in the service and standard of the Cavendish pavilion , if you want A lovely meal or just a piece of cake call-in at the abbey tea rooms for a substantial meal, or cake and a warm coffee served in crockery not paper cups with friendly staff not just kids serving, overall I recommend you walk to the Devonshire Arms and call in at the café over the road for better service and value for money .

Great place for a brew and cake after a good long walk. Staff helpful and friendly. Tables cleared and cleaned promptly. Lovely views of the river and countryside when dining outside. Toilets well maintained and clean. Restrictions for shop so it doesn't get to crowded. Lovely postcards available, cards, sweets, books and toys. Something for everyone.Entrance fee is £12.50 per car. No booking on-line required. Photos show views from bridge over river.

Really nice to sit outside and have a little break before making our way though the strid wood. It's great they don't have plastic bottles to help with litter in the area too. A very well placed and welcome stop.

Felt safe in the queue for sandwiches (reasonable pricey and good to eat) and drinks. Nice ginger beer but the tea was a bit disappointing as the milk was added with the tea bag still in and it had had no time to brew firstHowever the ice cream served via an external window was generous in proportion and spot on for taste.
