Great food, lovely staff, a nice place to stop over if travelling to the lakes with dogs and need a break/walk. Rooms aren't luxurious but we found them suitable for our needs, although the water pipes made a very loud noise after flushing the toilet or using the sink. Would happily visit again.

Picked this place out of the blue on a Sunday roam. Came in for a Sunday roast and was not disappointed! Staff very attentive and friendly. I had roast pork and husband had roast beef, both were delicious. Really good cuts of meat, so soft and tender. Outstanding Yorkshire pudding and carrot & swede. Chef checked if we'd enjoyed our meal which was a lovely touch, really friendly chap (not willing to give away any ingredient secrets though!).

In a lovely location,, we ate our evening meal there on our first night, generous portions, breakfast was lovely with a great choice. Room was clean and comfortable, clean towels provided daily if needed and beds made, and all the tea/coffee/milk were topped up, plenty off each as well, no running out of milk after 1 brew 🙂 dog was very welcome and staff were very pleasant and welcoming. I'd stay here again

Beautiful & clean a must visit place!! A home from home experience ideal for families & anyone searching for solitude. The friendly staff, warm atmosphere with great food & excellent service is a rare pleasure. There is outdoor seating to enjoy the surroundings & a large car park is available. The area is surrounded by natural beauty and breathtaking peaceful views. There are many walking trails ideal for nature lovers. Accommodation is provided & I will definitely be visiting in the summer. A haven of tranquility 10/10

Omg!!! Best burger in a long time. Huge!! Fab salsa and onion rings. The pub was so warm and cosy. Very welcoming....Ellie the manager and Ellie waiting on were so helpful. Not been in 15 years and glad I stopped on way up the dales. Despite few cars about its worth a stop. Got lots of potential let's all help revive it!!

Dont complain they are not interested. My daughter and I had the beef which we asked for it pink came over cooked so they changed it again came over done and then decided to tell us the beef was not pink. Last time I visited I was asked how I would like it and it was loveley. But mostly we were treated very badly, my son in law had to go bar for drinks, I was ignored by waitress,we waited 30 minutes no one cleared the plates asked if we would like desserts. So we left, we went to pay they only charged for drinks , my husband and son in law had no problem with thier meals . But after the "manager walking away from us" we just paid for the drinks. After receiving the wirse customer service ever.Wont be back. Mrs s Markey.

Stayed here twice this month. Both for 3-4 days. The rooms are basic clean, warm and just what i needed. The huge plus point is the food.. These are the best meals i have had out in years. High end quality at very reasonable prices. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. This was a work trip however i will be returning on any social dog walking breaks in the dales. 👍

Lovely food at night and an excellent breakfast. Very nice room for the night too with a great powerful shower.Very friendly and helpful staff. Why not 5 stars?Well they have ONE non alcoholic beer (and it's the usual Beck's Blue not so good lager). There are a number of 'craft style' beers 'Brew Dog' do 3, then there is Ghost Ship, Old Specked Hen, Doom Bar and of course Guinness 0.0% and better lagers out there. And others being added.....Go on, think of those drivers who want a drink....and people like me who gave up drinking alcohol (or only have very low alcohol). Flavour is important. I don't really want a sweet drink like cordials or juice based.Stick them on a shelf with a sign that says 'You Can Drink and Drive'.I will probably never visit again but I would if I needed somewhere in the area. It is a lovely area.
