I ordered a Chicken Tlkka starter, followed by a Keema Bhuna with chapatti’s, to be delivered to Rowland Street, Skipton. The distance from the restaurant to Rowland Street is only an easy ten minute walk, but as I am struggling with a damaged hip, I ordered a takeaway to be delivered. The delivery took one and a half hours to arrive, and that was after calling them in between, enquiring about my order. The Tikka starter was as advertised, unlike the Keema Bhuna, which is described by them, as a thick curry with herbs, etc. I would describe the Keema as a very runny curry, and tasted nothing like any other Keema curry I have ever eaten.Thoroughly disappointed!!!!

After waiting over an hour… the curry as spilled And bag soaked so all the curry fell on my carpet… when I ring the restaurant I was laughed at… discrasefull… never ordering from them again!!! I wonder who Im not able to attach any pictures??

We visited the restaurant during our overnight stay in Skipton, there was 4 of us, we ordered the mixed starter which was great and good value for money, All the main courses came together, everything was piping hot, the food tasted good. Possibly one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve eaten in. We will definitely return on our next visit to Skipton.

Me & my wife had a meal here this evening after reading the reviews online we decided to give it a try as we’re visiting for a couple of days and I can say we wasn’t disappointed, the food was fantastic! It was the best I’ve tasted and it takes me a lot to say this, my wife also enjoyed hers and next time we’re over here we’ll definitely pop in again, also the young man who served us couldn’t do enough for us, fab restaurant you won’t be disappointed.

Best Indian meal in my 64 years, incl Manchester's Rusholme curry mile; and 5* hotels in New Delhi, Agra, Varanasi and Kathmandu. The naan breads especially are velvety heaven! I'll be back!

I have eaten at other restaurants in Skipton, although they have good standards, Mastabs has better standards. One of the best things about this restaurant is the customer service. The owner served us and his personality matches the business. Staff were always checking up on us and always made conversation.Food was delicious and served very quickly. One of our main was even a special creation of haddock by the chef just for us so a lovely touch. Will certainly be going back again. Thanks guys

They opened up 1hr earlier for us when we knocked which was lovely as it was freezing cold outside and we were passing through Skipton on our way back to London having been out and about sightseeing around Yorkshire all day. That was really nice of them.Their attention to us was lovely, the meal was very cheap in comparison to our favourite Indian dish near Canterbury - almost half the price actually. Their northern hospitality was really nice. The food was good but not excellent. The Indian we love is so flavoursome that the guy is catering our wedding and with his meals not only do you add nothing to it but you drink water just so you don’t miss out on any of the taste and flavour. With this meal we had to add salt, chutney, lemon etc to finally achieve the rich flavour we wanted. I would have liked to see more flavour going into the meals. Having said that, the tandoori lamb in my Makhani has that 10/10 rich flavour I was looking for. And despite having been cooked in the tandoor, it was tender enough not to be chewed for long and was very nice to eat. The king prawns in the king prawn puri were smaller than we are used to for king prawns and there could have been one or two more. That dish also needed chutney and lemon and salt to complete the flavour, but was nice. The lamb in the Makhani was a lot, they didn’t do that sparingly and that was nice. The puri and chapati were both made from whole meal flour and were quite dry. The chapati was very dry and hardened quickly and I’m not sure why. We prefer soft normal flour chapati. All in all - 7/10 and if we are ever in the area we’d go back and ask for more flavour and non wholemeal chapati.Recommended.
