Really excellent fish and chips, best in the area imho, and reasonably priced. Only downside is the polystyrene packaging.

It’s a mystery how anyone can manage to cook fish and chips badly - but given sufficient practice and determination it is obviously possible. This must be how they are served in Hell.Fish were dry (too long frozen) and covered with a thin layer of dark brown sludge that expressed spoonfuls of glistening oil when pressed with a knife blade. An apt description of the batter would be an antonym of ‘light and crisp’ - in what parallel dystopian universe is batter is an oily sludge?Chips were just about cooked and could benefit from both another couple of minutes and better quality potatoes.Overall a rather tasteless and soggy experience. Maybe it was an off night, or perhaps more discerning pescatarians go elsewhere.The mushy peas were the highlight of a joyless meal.
