Hidden away on Long Ashes caravan site. Convenient if you are staying there but better pubs a short drive away.

Very friendly staff in a lovely bar/restaurant. Reasonably priced lovely food. The only reason i didn't give 5 stars was the pork on my ribs was to well done and was no dish to place the bones after each rib which made for a messy eat.

Really friendly staff, good beer but on the night we visited the cook wasn't paying attention. I had pie chips and peas, pie great, mushy peas tasty but the chips were dry and overcooked. My wife had small fish chips and peas. Sadly only the peas were fit for humans. Dry over cooked fish and chips were the same as mine, inedible. We had two dogs who weren't as worried about the quality and they were very happy to eat what we couldn't. Went back for beer the next night, but not prepared to waste any more money on food.

Memorably bad. My first truly terrible meal when visiting Yorkshire. Dry dry overcooked burger with undercooked bacon. A pie that slowly disintegrated and merged with the mushy peas. The starters were ok. The staff pleasant enough but inattentive and under trained (the drinks needed a reminder and certainly the saddest G&T I've ever met). I don't blame them at all. Maybe they were having a bad night but I'll never find out.

Lovely bar & dining area. Staff in the bar and restaurant excellent. Sadly let down by the cuisine. We ordered a sharing plata of bread olive oil balsamic and olives...£7. What arrived was a few slices of shop bought sliced bread, low grade olive oil,a bare table spoon of balsamic and bottled or canned olives. We sent it back and were not charged. The rest of our meal was ....adequate.... top prices. .could be so much better with little effort. The table near us ordered a lager and lime. What arrived was a lager with a slice of lime!...say no more.

Absolutely beautiful stay here over 2 nights. Room lovely with a really comfortable bed. Meals were absolutely gorgeous, especially the lamb Henry. Breakfast was lovely and nothing to much trouble. Have to ask if you want your room serviced but that's not a problem. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful surroundings, food and staff amazing. The room however is not to a particular good standard. Tiny room, the wardrobe wobbles when you walk at the bottom of the bed, cracked tiles in the bathroom, bath panels broken. All very outdated and worn. Rooms very noisy. Not the best. 5 star for food, 2 star for accommodation. Very disappointed.

Stayed here for 2 nights in Lovely Seat. The accommodation was amazing, beautiful setting and the room was just perfect. It was immaculately clean and had been built to such a high specification. I’ll be sure to try and stay in this room again! The staff were very friendly and attentive, breakfast was enjoyable and the evening dinner menu offered something for everyone, but was cooked and presented beautifully! Will certainly be returning, thanks again Gamekeepers Inn!

I can honestly say the Sunday roast was up there as one of the most memorable, however not for the right reasons. The meat itself was tough as old boots, the beef was so well done it was cremated. The pork was extremely dry but the crackling was somehow moist and chewy - it should be the other way around! In terms of value for money this was very poor, paying £15 for a mixed meat roast, the quality reflects approx £4. Avoid.
