"The Old White Bear is the oldest building in the village Cross Hills and was built in 1735. It has previously been a hotel, a brothel, a council meeting place and a dance hall. The council met frequently here to discuss the Leeds and Liverpool canal and decided where to cut through the land here! It has also been the site for Goose Eye, White Bear and Naylors breweries and ale from Naylors brewery, situated less than half a mile away is always on pump. There are three real fires which come to life in winter and a sun-trap beer garden for the summer."

Had a beautiful meal, couldn't fault it. Staff were thoughtful and brought highchair straight to us without us having to go hunt for one. Food was 25 mins. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.

Go in every 2 weeks for the quiz on a Thursday, 9:30pm seems a late time but done for last orders. Good vibe, warm, excellent service and crisp tasting pints

I like it here. Great food, cosy atmosphere. Log fires in winter. It's has a welcoming local feel. The staff are friendly and the beer prices aren't bad. Highly recommended.

Not been here for years, but so glad we tried it for a change on saturday. The food was excellent and the whole pub had a really friendly relaxed atmosphere. The young waiter is certainly a great credit to your business. Will be back soon.

Went in for a beer on Friday, plenty of choice on the taps and a good vibe. Food also available and folk enjoy it. 👍

A great pub that offers vegans options. The mushroom and pea risotto (without Parmesan) was delicious and hearty! They also offer a vegan curry.
