This pub is really nice. Nice friendly staff and great customer service. The corned beef hash was out of this world and delicious. I would definitely recommend it.

Excellent pub right beside the canal, great food and service ..the roast beef was perfect for Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, and plenty of gravy..pate with toast and a black pudding and bacon to start the lot for £40.. great value.

Snug, cosy, dog friendly pub. Canalside pub with beer garden. USP is that it has a Royal Charter, it is the only Royal Shepherd in England and only 980 Royal Charters have been issued since the 13th century. Handpulled cask beer is Timothy Taylor. There were 3 when I went, Landlord, Knowle Spring and Golden Best, as well as Thatcher's Big Apple Cider on draft. Lots of sport memorabilia decorating walls and ceiling.

Has a really lovely Sunday lunch today. Great portion size and was fresh and tasted just like it was home made. Friendly staff and a warm and inviting place all round. We saw other meals coming out of the kitchen that also looked amazing! Would highly recommend to everyone. We left pleasantly full and happy.

Very welcoming on a snowy day. Steak and kidney pie was fantastic. Corned beef hash was enormous. Proper food and proper portions. Also very dog friendly with an open fire to dry off on front of. Highly recommended.

Lovely food and a good range but I was disappointed that there was only one real ale on draught. There was also no quiet area. I quite enjoyed the atmosphere of the rugby match on TV but some of our party were quite stressed with the noise and boisterous behaviour. All in all, I would recommend it but there is room for improvement
