Landlord very kindly opened up early and served us coffee. Amazing location with beautiful scenery.

Everything about our stay was excellent; the food was delicious and we were made to feel totally at home. Would highly recommend!

We saw this beautiful place on a previous trip back in January. We stayed here for a couple of nights with our dog and had a lovely time. The room was perfect, clean and comfy, food was beautiful and the area was stunning. The owners were very friendly and accomodating and we couldn't have wished for better weather. We were very lucky and would most definitely recommend The White Lion Inn for both food and accommodation 😍

I’d love to keep this place quiet… but came up from brighton to visit family and wanted to come back here after visiting a few years ago. So delighted to see this place still idyllic, fabulous homely food, gorgeous setting and welcoming hospitality from the owner. You’re a treasure! Don’t ever change

Only stopped at this remote yet charming old location for food. The quality was excellent and the surrounding peaceful and tranquil area would make this a wonderful place to stay for a less manic and noisy environment. Didn't stay here so cannot comment on rooms.

Nice pub in the heart of rural Yorkshire.Staff and service were spot on to be honest.Didn't eat but saw some meals that were being served and they looked great.The only downside was the smell coming from the toilets...that's not acceptable in this day and age, hence only 4 stars 🙁

Chris and family are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are modern and clean. I would recommend this place as a great bolt hold to explore the delights of Yorkshire. The food is fantastic! Worth the price

Stayed for a Sunday night and dinner in summer. Got lucky with the extraordinary weather. The location of this pub is breathtaking. Sit outside for a local pint and listen to the bubbling stream, have dinner in the old inn dining room/pub area. Definitely worth staying the night and including dinner, food was excellent, room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The pub and room were spotless, and I mean spotless. Staff were friendly and helpful. And amazingly a public bus came past, so possibly an option for walkers/those without cars.

Just back from our 2nd stay at this beautiful pub. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food is amazing and a beautiful full English in the morning. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. And to round it off, it's in a beautiful, peaceful location. Great for walking. We'll definately be back.
