red lion pub in Doncaster

Very nice pub. It's a big place with plenty of outside space too. Didn't rate the food.

It's a nice space on the terrace. Warm summers night, decent company and lots of beer choices too. What's not to like apart from any unsaviries in there that you potentially get in any establishment.

The lady we had serving us that day was so slow and looked so angry we decided to order from the app instead as was quicker and polite from there on in. She took a strong 10 mins to pour 2 pints when we finally got servedTable was piled with plates and filthy asked a few times for it to be cleared after 30 mins took the stuff up myself. Rest was collected when our food order arrived.Wasn't particularly busy for the Red Lion either hence the scoreOther than that it's cheap, the app works, the toilets are 3 miles away.Just need to get waiting staff to clear and wipe down tables more regularly and would be spot on.Hope the lady behind the bar sped up as there would be one hell of a queue rest of the staff were on fire.I've drank in here regularly and it's normally very rapid service and tables cleaned almost as soon as you ask no matter how busy it is.

Good , I liked the Red Lion. The only thing was the room was small with air conditioning in ceiling over the bed. The noise and the chill factor was awkward for sleeping also they have a moisture barrier over the mattress which drew sweat and stuck me to the bottom sheet.First visit to Doncaster arrived at about 2pm on a Saturday roads were very busy! Parked up in the first Car Park we could get to, the multi storey above shopping centre. I know these places can be pricey but no way we're we going back out into that traffic! Good walk to the Red Lion though .....carrying luggage! Anyway price on hoarding stated £6 per day! I naively thought , well that's about £12?( day+night )we were there 45 hours the charge was £57+ ouch!! Probably won't be going back!

After making a mistake on the Wetherspoons app Helen, who delivered our meals, was extremely helpful with sorting out our mistakes. She then helped us to reorder and helped us to correct it in a professional manner. Thank you Helen you are more than a star ⭐ your are a 5 🌟Thanks again Helen.

Always busy which is a good sign. Food, 'you get what you pay for', cheap and cheerful. Always a good atmosphere friendly staff and customers alike.

Food served quickly, clearly the reason why our order was incorrect.. waitress rude and not interested in missing food items, check back or having a general interest in customer service. However chicken bites were nice.

Enjoy the meal. Lovely young girl served us was lovely. I member of staff was abit cold when I asked her 2 problems

We stayed one night for a gig we went to room was lovely and clean very trendy shower was amazing had meal in pub too plus breakfast was best meal in a weatherspoon we have had was spotless in pub lovely and clean wish Boston was the same well done red lion can't wait come again

Lovely food, however the manager on the day I came into the pub was very rude. Walked off when I was speaking to him about my concerns. Had a very bad attitude. Paid for a meal through the app, then tried charging me extra for a soft drink which was cheaper than the alcoholic drink that I had ordered which he wouldn’t give me. (granted I left my ID at home due to an unexpected visit- so understand he couldn’t give it me- but wouldn’t even replace what I’d already paid for to a soft drink)Do not recommend this place and the manager needs further training on customer services!
