Roman Terrace Fish Bar in Doncaster

I originally awarded this Fish & Chip shop 2 stars. However, things have improved tremendously since then, so I wanted to raise that to 5 stars.Excellent fish, cooked to perfection, and the staff are friendly despite being incredibly busy.They also have a convenient, large car park.The only drawback now is when you have to queue, but that is simply a sign of how good and popular Roman Fish Bar has become!Recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent food great polite staff well priced great portions

Used this fish shop numerous times and never had a problem always good tasty and well ooked fish. As I have allergies and cannot have batter we always ask for either just flour or slightly battered they always just dip on flour in and out so it doesn't collapse In fryer. But today my husband went and came back with a 2 battered fish battered fish. One with batter for him.The batter wasn't even cooked. The chips were very pale and I had to pop them in a frying pan to make them how a chip should be. The fyrer obviously didn't know how to do my fish and should have asked and if couldnt do it I would not have wasted over 14 pounds for fishand chips. Very upset and disappointed

Passing visit, had fish, chips and peas all excellent quality and at just over a tenner was great value for a large serving.

I've been a customer for years at Roman Fish Bar, its my number 1 fish n chip shop with great food and with great staff members who's works there.

Very disappointed with portion sizes.Had pie and chips last week and only got a very small handful of chips. Thought it was a kids portion!Gave benefit of the doubt and tried again next week.Had chicken curry and chips special this week and got less than 8 small thimble sized pieces of chicken no onion and not even enough sauce to cover all the chips.Both weeks I was still hungry and had to find something else to eat.This is all ashame because they used to be good.I understand that costs are going up but you still want a decent portion for your money. Unfortunately we will be looking else where for a better meal even if we have to pay a little more.

Quality is always consistent. Good choice on the menu and priced competitively. Best chippy in Mexborough by a long way.

Used several times before , but never ordered on internet which I did tonight.Meal ready in less than the 10minute time advertised.Food (mixed kebab, chips, salad) absolutely excellent.Packaged up nicely in box inside a branded paper carrier bag.Well done, recommended.
