The Sportsman in Doncaster

We just nipped in for some food on our way home. Sunday dinner on the table within minutes. One meat and one veggie, absolutely scrumptious, all the veg cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Yorkshire pudding was super, asked for extra gravy (as I like lots) came out very quick. All the staff are friendly, polite and very approachable. Defo be back for sure

Although the bar staff were pleasant and patient there were some very strange rules regarding food which made the experience less than pleasant

Took my daughter for dinner and a pudding, we both enjoyed it, and will come back againDaughter said the pudding was DELICIOUS 😋

Lovely food and service went out there way to make sure we was happy had a young baby and was very helpful highly recommend top service will definitely be returning

It's not very often that I decide on a night out. I went here on Friday with a couple of friends as there was karaoke disco on. We got to the pub about 9pm and it was so quiet. Then, we find out that the landlady was putting a stop to.music and karaoke at 10pm. We were all disgusted cos we were all singing, and buying plenty of drink. It's advertised as 'late'. My Grandkids stay up til this time at weekend. It was a waste of getting done up, travelling only to be told it's to be stopped. Very poor customer skills as far as we were all concerned.We left and went to another venue and, were singing our hearts out til 1am.

Always good food and a large selection of drinks! Friendly staff that are very polite. Cooked breakfasts are bang on too!! Very well priced.

I thought everything about the sportsman was very good except the slow service. In their defence it was exceptionally busy and I will be returning to try again because I think based on the quality of what was on offer it will be worth it.

Came for Christmas Day lunch, can only say a massive thank you to those who gave up their Christmas to make others lovely. The food (turkey or steak) was lovely, vegetables beautifully cooked. The staff worked their socks off, understaffed & grill friendly nothing was too much for £38 a wonderful 3 course meal. Well done to the chef & other members of staff
