Thornhurst Manor & Thornhurst Park Golf Club in Doncaster

I attended a wedding on Saturday and I was so impressed. A beautiful venue and fantastic staff.I am also gluten intolerant and the meal was made gluten free for me and then on the evening when the buffet came out I was given a separate plate with food that had been prepared separately from the main buffet.I was so impressed with the attention to detail and the effort that went in. I wasn't even a family member to the bride or groom just a friend. A wonderful experience.

Been today for afternoon tea. The pros are it's a beautiful place. The cakes are lovely.The cons.....I was told the wrong information on the telephone when I booked it. A member of staff advised we had a selection of sandwiches to choose from, this wasn't correct, we had no choice .Some staff were rude and some not accommodating. Some gave awful stares. Had to ask for tea as no teapot. This was advertised as tea for mother's day with a free gift, however none of us received that. Didn't appreciate pay at the door without even testing the food.All in all very disappointing 👎

Golf Course in excellent condition for the time of year green keeping staff need commending. On a minus we had Bacon Sandwich and Coffee on arrival, the Bacon was burnt what there was of it and Coffee Cold so unfortunately spoiled to full experience. There was 16 happy golfers who will return but unfortunately just for the Golf.

Had a small wedding at thornhust manor 29th January and it was excellentJason and his team was excellent they could not have done anything betterWe had the small restaurant to the side and it was set up beautiful.The meal was an excellent standard and it well received.I definitely would recommend this place for a wedding reception and any other functionsOnce again excellent serviceThanks Dave & Emma Frost

Absolutely lovely food for my friends. They just need to be a little more creative for vegetarian and vegan customers but all in all it was fabulous.

Had my daughters Baby shower here on the weekend the guy who was the manager was absolutely brilliant could not do enough was so helpful the food was amazing and my daughter who is the mum to be is vegan they bought out her a lovely selection of vegan foods cream tea of he own and she said was delicious the cream tea we had was beautiful quality food and the quiche and the scones was really lovely we highly highly recommend and if l was having another event would definitely book here again every one he came really enjoyed it thank you Thornhurst manor you are 🤩 brilliant 🤩

this is first time we have been on a sunday. they gave us several options i had garlic mushroom starter (sorry missed starter pics) they were nice n crispy batter and garlicy inside not over cooked or mushy. others had prawn salad. they had a decent amount of prawns in there they enjoyed.mains we all picked the lamb option. i must say its nice change that they didnt stick lots of peas on to fill plate up. they had various veg and roast plus mashed potatoes. i must say i hate when roasties aren't cooked enough but they were really nice n golden. the lamb was nice n tender. desserts were really nice too.it was hot day so as we walked in with my guide dog they changed our table we had booked to another one that they thought would be better for him to get a nice breeze. they also brought him out a large bowl/bucket of water and asked if there was anything else he needed. they even put us on a larger table than we needed so he had more space for him. so he sprawled out in the spare space happily. i would like to thank the staff for being so nice about having him there

My wife & I have just completed 3 visits in less than a week, Tuesday lunchtime, Saturday lunchtime and Sunday evening, a total of 17 courses between us. The food was mostly excellent, bar the southern fried chicken goujons on the Tuesday lunchtime which were a bit overcooked (although very good on the Sunday evening) and a portion of chips on the Tuesday lunchtime that was both cold & hard, suggesting it was the end of a batch that had been standing awhile. At least the Tuesday lunchtime food came with 50% discount, so thank you for that. One sirloin steak ordered medium by my wife on the Sunday evening was rather more rare than she would have liked, and was more like my sirloin steak ordered medium rare on the same evening, which was both tender and very tasty. Good scampi and super steak & ale pie, but the sausages weren't up to much, although their accompaniments were. Great peas, petit pois actually, and fresh vegetables not overcooked. The standout dessert was the cornflake tart which was divine, I had it twice, and it didn't matter to me that it was served with traditional custard rather than the pink custard on the menu. Disappointing that some desserts seemed to be in short supply. The staff were all good, but special mention must go to the lovely Beth, the young lady with the pigtails and most engaging smile, who was very pleasant indeed. Music a little too loud for us, but you're never going to satisfy everyone on that, both on volume & content.

Come here once in a month for some good old grub, food is always amazing. You get big portions for the price you pay! Can be really busy so food can take a little longer then a chain pub but the food here is much better. Plus they have the best chips :) small selection of beers on tap but enough to cover :) can not fault this place.
