Fields of Anlaby in East Riding of Yorkshire

My partner has been and bought a black pudding scotch egg, pork pie and sausage roll. We are regulars to fields and love their steak pie, this is the first time trying the sausage roll and it was completely unedible - the pastry was so salty it ended up in the bin after one mouthful. Really disappointing 😞

As always this is my honest review of my experience when visiting a shop/garage or venue. On this occasion I was visiting Fields of Anlaby bakery shop again. i ordered a small/standard steak pie for £2.25. OMG the salt hit my mouth before the pie. I try to avoid salt as much as I can, as we all know, too much is bad for you, well a tiny bit is too much for my salt intolerance. but this pie must of had an handful in it, one bite and that was enough and the rest went in the bin. Now over to the Vanilla and cream slice. Wow the size of this is a nice looking experience, but unfortunately it's not as nice as it looks. I dont know if they have changed the custard recipe but its tastes false, and thinking the cream was fresh cream, but unfortunately it was dream topping, not a nice experience at all. that also went in the bin, but please remember this is just my experience. Previous visits to fields have being great, maybe today was just a one off for them. fortunately for me it was only £4.75 down the drain / in the bin, maybe I'll give them another try in a few months.

Always great service. Love the pies, selection of meats etc. Awesome selection of great quality meat. Love this butcher's.

Expected a lot more,the meat was poor quality! hidden with marinade.I had to throw it away ,sub standard and cheap.

Excellent butchers, really friendly staff, and if you haven't tried there pies, you're missing out!Interested in BBQ foods/meat, talk to the staff. They have a great range of meat that are excellent for a BBQ. Though some cuts you may need to ordered in advance, especially if you're not onlya "fair weather BBQer" (aka you BBQ all year round) 😁👍

Always a great selection of meats. Very tempting to walk out with more than you originally went in for.

Never disappointed, the best Chicken Kiev's ever. His selection of pies are great but best of all he makes a proper egg and ham pie.

We ordered the standard and deluxe buffet packages along with some additional platters for a function. The food was presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. Well done Fields of Anlaby !

Very friendly staff, delicious food, high quality all round, well worth a visit.
