Nice fish and chips but I'm not sure how you get away selling regular fish at a size of a small anywere else I've been . Then to get charge ridiculous amount for it . Soon it will be cheaper to go on a boat catch your own fish .

I popped by whilst on a ride to Hornsea. Picked up some fish and chips from here on recommendation from a work colleague. Best fish and chips I've had for a long while! Recommended!

I am a big fan of Papas Fish and Chips, but I honestly think that these are as good, if not better! Beautifully cooked, good value, and a very clean and pleasant shop.We peeped into the restaurant, and it looked lovely and reasonably priced. Very impressed!

My wife and I are not from Hornsea but were in the area to view a property, so thought we'd give it a try. We often talk about how it's hard to get good fish and chips these days, as service and quality has gone down and prices have gone up. We even drive from our home in Wakefield to Halifax for fish and chips that we know to be good! However, as soon as I saw the fish and chips being cooked and served up in Whiteheads I knew we were on a winner! Freshly cooked, quality ingredients, great portions, smooth service, you really can't ask for anymore. If only there was somewhere doing fish and chips like this in Wakefield!

I have enjoyed take-away fish and chips from Whitehead’s many times but I had the pleasure of dining in Whitehead’s restaurant for the first time on Saturday. After a very blustery (and cold!) walk on the beach, my family had worked up an appetite! We opted for small portions of fish and chips with a variety of sides - mushy peas, curry sauce and bread and butter, which was more than satisfactory as the portion sizes are so generous.Even the children (aged 7 and 9) commented on how lovely and fresh the fish tasted and my hubby, who isn’t a fan of fried food and usually strips the batter thoroughly enjoyed it because it was so light and crispy. The chips were A.Mazing. Perfectly cooked and plenty of them.Throughout the meal, we were served by attentive waitresses who never stopped smiling.A trip to Whitehead’s restaurant is a genuine treat and we agreed unanimously that we’ll be back for more. There are so many great options to choose from on the menu. The only issue is that we might be spoiled for choice!

Very busy restaurant on a Tuesday lunchtime in February. Obviously the menu majored on fish and chips specials. We had the small portion and were we glad that we had made that choice. The regular size was way too much for us, but if you have a bigger appetite it's perfect. Very reasonable with tea and bread and butter included. The fleshy fish was delicious and the plentiful, well cooked chips were wonderful. The service was very efficient and very friendly. Altogether a perfect birthday treat. Would highly recommend.

This is a hidden gem well worth seeking. Food was excellent. Staff were friendly and good at their jobs. Great restaurant facilities. We enjoyed the takeaway so went back another day to enjoy the dining in experience. Would strongly recommend visiting. We will be on our next visit to Hornsea.

Had fish and chips many times over the years, and it used to be the very best. Unfortunately, it has recently steadily declined. Today we were greeted by surly, sour faced staff, and served over-priced tasteless small fish (ÂŁ6-50), drenched and dripping with oil and covered by a new disgusting thick batter. They have cheese and potato pies on the menu, but they are never available. Some improvement is definitely required.

Have visited Whiteheads for multiple years.Hands down the best fish and chips I have had anywhere.Pros:- Good portion sizes- Good price- Very tasty fish (very fresh, fully skinned and boned)- Crispy chipsCons:- There can be quite a wait depending on the time of day (aim to get there early and out of peak periods, the wait is worth it though)
