Went here with my family yesterday and without a doubt I had the worst chips I have ever had from a fish and chip shop. The chips were brown, old, dry and tasteless. Really small portion for what you pay for too. It’s so annoying that places like this can get away with serving terrible food as it’s a tourist location so they will get plenty of customers throughout the year so don’t really have to care about serving decent fish and chips.

Everything over cooked asked for peas and got curry. better one not 50 yards up the road

Worst service ever. Asked for 3 large chips with scraps. Waited 5 minutes to be given 1 box. I asked for 2 more as the lady didn't listen. I waited a further 10 minutes. I got back home to find 1 box of chips was cold and not remade to order to so was literllay sat on the side for 10 minutes. All contained no scraps. Worst service ever and overpriced. The is the 2nd time i have been here and will never go again. Avoid if you don't want to be disappointed

Awful…the fish was undercooked and tasted vile. The batter wasn’t even cooked. This was really disappointed and I never ever complain or write reviews but I did feel the need to ring and tell them. They offered to replace it but no thanks. We won’t be using them again.

I wouldnt even give it 1 star but had too so I could write review. I've used you twice now and yesterday you couldnt even cook me fresh chips! Most were black and basically old stock!! Your price of 3.40 for just large chips as well!! And your a miserable git too. Do everyone a favour and hang up your apron!

Beautiful freshly cooked chips, red hot and not a bit of grease in sight! Super tasty and lovely staff too

Having a day out and wanted fish and chips for dinner. Found High Street on Google. The lady who served us was so friendly and as for the food it was cooked fresh and was excellent. The portion size is very large and sadly we could manage them. We definitely know where to come next time we are in the area.

Wish I’d read reviews before we visited & if only the owners took onboard the reviews left. Visited yesterday (26/11) on the way back from Thornwick Bay & met by a miserable man with absolutely no people skills.Hate to leave these type of reviews but the Fish was probably the worst fish I’d ever had the misfortune of eating. Oily tasteless undercooked batter, white fish in some places but horrid. Chips that just tasted of oil. Carton of nice but hardly warm peas. Ordered a can of pop but wasn’t given a choice of flavours, guy just put a can of coke on counter lol.Very expensive compared to most other chip shops. Decent portion sizes tho but left 70% of it anyway. The only positive thing I can say is fortunately we’d parked opposite the dustbin so at least I didn’t have to walk to far to throw it away. Can 100% confirm we’ll never visit again & if I could of given zero stars I would of done.

This was the second time I'd been to High Street fisheries. The first time was for chips only. These were dry and the portion tiny.I only decided to return because another nearby was closed. Bad decision. The food is disgusting. Batter hard, tasteless and dry. There was a decent fish portion but it's consistency was dry and way overcooked. Like chewing a twig and I spat out half of what I ate before giving up. Chips firm, undercooked and frankly sickening.I only have Fish and chips at the coast but these were easily the worst that I had tasted in North and East Yorkshire. Actually, they are the worst that I have had anywhere at the coast. What an embarrassment to Flamborough head.

Ace fish & chips, friendly people. The portions are enormous! It has to be the biggest fish we’ve ever had! Great value for the quality and size. The menu is good, with lots of options for the kids. All cooked to order, too. Top place!
