Spot on! Took my little family here - the kids loved their Sausage and mash. The service was a little slow but the waiting staff apologised. I'd highly recommended and we'll return again soon!

Good atmosphere, so happy they allow dogs in one side of the pub. staff were polite and friendly.Unfortunately the steak was expensive and overcooked. Asked for medium rare, it arrived well done. Sadly left disappointed.

Came here with my Grandad and sister and had a steak asked for it to be medium rare and was the most perfect steak I have ever eaten honestly 10 out of ten my sister is a butcher so I know a good steak! Also my grandad wanted a little more with his meal and the chef quite happily whipped him up some veg smiles all round! Lovely staff very friendly and smiley was an absolute pleasure eating here and will definitely recommend and come again.Thank you very much.

Been here several times.In summary it’s a lovely place, great food, generous portions at a good fair price.We recommend it to our friends and look forward to dining later this evening.

Staff warm, friendly and helpful The food was absolutly delicious and immaculately presented. It's not the cheapest but you get exactly what you pay for which is quality and perfection. Worth every penny. Well worth a visit. I shall be going back again soon.

Food was fantastic...great chef. I had the Salmon with fried/veg rice, best I've had yet. 8 of us and not a morsel left on plates, says it all

We booked our Christmas meal here some months ago and the weather last night was awful, being very icy. But when we arrived we were not disappointed. The place was lovely and warm, great fire, very nicely decorated and the staff were very friendly and attentive from the start. The meal it self was 'top notch' and worth every penny. We even received a home-made mince pie with brandy sauce at the end after our dessert. Very nice touch. Would certainly recommend. (The building improvements have made a great difference....very well done)

Not impressed, staff seem lost half the time and not sure what they're doing. Portion sizes very inconsistent and overpriced for the quality. Many other diners had complaints during our stay so clearly not just us with problems. Yet another pub trying to be a restaurant and missing the mark.EDIT: Was ill after my stay, no doubt due to dairy in my food despite a vegan meal requested. They clearly hadn't even been bothered to check the packaging of the food they microwaved.

Had the sea bass. Very dry and bland. Didn't come with the sauce it stated. Came as part o s group. Nothing done about in spite of informing the staff, apart from a free coffee. Overpriced for what it was. Service also very slow. Meals served separately with big gaps in time. Sauce for a steak 10 mins after the steak. Many reviews on here and trip advisor have a common theme. Small portion size on some meals, average quality on some meals, slow service, poor value for money. Goes back a while. I think you need to look at what is going on to be honest having been there tonight. Pub style food looks ok. Your attempts at higher end cuisine are atrocious

Wow what a lovely location and great pub/restaurant. From the moment we walked in the staff couldn't have been more helpful, they were clearly very busy and in hindsight I should have booked a table. Six of us dined and the menu had something for everyone, we had to apologise for the delay in ordering as we all needed to narrow down our choice (I could have eaten every dish). The order was promptly served and everything was piping hot. The lovely waitress ensured we had all we wanted and was extremely polite when clearing away, again she checked we had all enjoyed our meal. Speaking to the Landlord I understand the owner's have further plans for the business and we can't wait to re-visit. This is a must visit destination for anyone who enjoys a well stocked bar, fine wine and fantastic food!
