Having been a customer of this establishment for around 25 years, which still has the original ownership and people involved, I can say that during those years the food served has been enjoyed by my wife and myself, and sometimes our family many times over. One or two hiccups along the way when for some reason we thought that our food was not of their usual standard. It was a rare occurrence and having sampled other Chinese establishments offering we soon went back Ocean. We knew that overall Ocean was hard to beat.

Moved to hessle last year so had to find a new favourite Chinese. Luckily I found this place. Great food every time. Better then my last favourite

Its generally pretty good but every now and then you get a substandard dish. (Usually overcooked fried food)

This is the wife's favourite Chinese, she loves a spicy curry and this place does a nice deep hot one. Not my favourite unfortunately, I like a nice sweet and sour but this one is a bit too much sour and not enough sweet for me. It's all down to personal taste I suppose. They do a nice foo Yung. That's what I tend to get lol.

First of all the lady who serves is incredibly rude. She got really quite nasty when I made a point that they didn’t have a takeaway menu! Her reply was a snapped “they cost too much”. So... the food, it was quite simply awful. As someone else has alluded to already, the duck was dry and inedible. The curry was salty and gloopy with lumps in it. The chicken content was very mean and the the portion was 90% onion! A cheapskate trick. The fried noodles we had ordered were all burnt with shards of hard black burnt food ??? Off the wok? Not sure but it wasn’t eaten. I rang and complained to be met with a tirade of abuse from the ill tempered woman who slammed the phone down! Lastly, I reckon this Chinese takeaway is 10-20% more expensive than most. Overall it was an awful experience and I will not return.

Been using them for years. Great service. I love the beef curry, fried rices, foo yung, chow mein. Chop suey has a bit to many beansprouts for my taste recently. I recommend.
