Where is Restaurant at The Gardeners Country Inn?

🏠 Hull Road, Coniston, Hull HU11 5AE

"The heart of The Gardeners is of course the restaurant. Carefully crafted to feel perfectly like a real olde worlde inn, it oozes real character and charm. It has a flag stone floor, open fires and twisted branch finishes are seen nowhere else in the region, which sets this totally unique inn apart from anywhere else. When you walk into the pub, two things strike you – the feeling of stepping back in time and walking into one of the friendliest pubs you will have come across. Our wedding venue is light and bright, perfect for any wedding! The Ridings Suite can hold upto 160 people with its own personal bar and dancefloor and doors leading right out into the garden for those lovely summer nights. We offer bespoke weddings to suit everyone."

It's OK, that's about it, we visited for a second time to try it again but there isn't any reason we'd chose to return unless the food improved drastically. The setting and staff are lovely and the kids play area is great too.

Incredibly disappointing. Garlic bread slice was dry and cold. My daughters pasta was roasting hot and looked dry. My burger was poor. Additionally, the one waitress working here huffed and puffed when serving our table - overall considerably better places to visit nearby Avoid.

Wouldn’t let me take unwanted items off a burger because they were ‘too busy’. Firstly it wasn’t even that busy and secondly how is it more difficult to add less items to food? I’m literally making the order more simple and still paying the same cost for ingredients I don’t want. So didn’t order anything and won’t be coming back no one else on our table enjoyed the food either, so looks like it was a blessing in disguise, everyone else had a Sunday dinner.

visited the gardener country inn on mother's 2020 with my mum my sister my son we was looking forward to nice meal out we thought it was a nice family put clearly I was mistaken our table was book foe 12.30 so we arrived at 12. 10 so my on could play outside for a bit a waitress showed us our seats and was pressuring us to order drinks there was no drinks menu to be seen. As it was a lovely day we ask if we could sit outside as our table wasn't the nice right in the doorway so waitresses was whizzing past us . My sister also change he chair a she is pregnant the chair was uncomfortable the waitress very moody give us a dirty look my drink came a coke it was so flat it had to be sent back then the food which we also been rushed to order I had a burger it was so burnt I had to send it back the waitress said would I like anything else but with the bad atmosphere and a 2 year old with me I didn't want anything else. All the staff including the management was stood chatting very unprofessional .When we complained all we got was we have 600 people in the space of 6 hours why I got told this Is beyond me as every customer should be treated the same and it was a new grill that's why the burger was burnt I have never heard anything so silly I would off rather there said it was fully booked. My sister email the complaint to the manager Kelly who has been very rude and unprofessional and will not pass the complaints on to the owner. And removes any comments 0n FacebookPlease save your money and find a nice pub as this is honestly the worse place I have been .Date of visit: March

The food was absolutely delish, cheesecake I had was the best I've eaten. Service with a smile. We even went back the next day for Sunday lunch and again food was fab.

Went for food as we were staying on the camp site next to it the food was expensive enough, it should have been nice but it wasn’t chicken Kiev didn’t taste of garlic, it was battered chicken that had been sliced and covered in parsley butter sauce, the beef dripping hand cut chips tasted of old potatoes and old oil, and the bairn got a burger that was dry as a bone and tasted like charcoal. Also they close ridiculously early. So bad avoid at all costs.

Fantastic food. Portion size was generous to say the least. Absolutely delicious. Our son is autistic and they catered to his needs without a problem. Excellent service.

Haven't been for some years as wasn't too impressed but was a pleasant surprise. Staff all very friendly and so helpful, they made everyone welcome as each party of diners arrived. Table service was prompt and efficient. Food was very tasty with a good range of menu choices plus selection of specials. The chef was not happy with the filling in the steak pie so served me with two to make up for the lack of steak! Really enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be back soon.

We were staying at the country park next door so called into The Gardeners on a Saturday lunch time. The decor and furnishings are lovely. Clean and tidy, very country pub like but not old fashioned. The staff were super friendly and chatted to us like we were regulars! The food. WOW. I was not expecting food so good for some reason but it was amazing. We all had one of the burgers. They were huge, ridiculously tasty and the sides (chips and apple slaw) were equally as tasty. If we return to the area we will 100% be back here for some more food! There’s also a lovely beer garden which I imagine is perfect on a sunny summer day.

Food was fantastic again as always. Very accommodating especially with the needs of my autistic child and his small essentials. Only complaint is deciding which homemade dessert to choose. Thank you for another wonderful meal.
